US terror watchlist 80,000 names long

STOCKHOLM (AFP) - A watchlist of possible terror suspects distributed by the US government
to airlines for pre-flight checks is now 80,000 names long, a Swedish newspaper reported,
citing European air industry sources.

The classified list, which carried just 16 names before the September 11, 2001 attacks in
New York and Washington had grown to 1,000 by the end of 2001, to 40,000 a year later and
now stands at 80,000, Svenska Dagbladet reported.

Airlines must check each passenger flying to a US destination against the list, and contact
the US Department of Homeland Security for further investigation if there is a matching name.

John Johnson is one of the most common names in the US. I can imagine how many people are inconvenienced by this list.

8. Identifying information besides a name?

The US Department of Homeland Security can't rely on information about someone's weight. Somebody could deliberately lose or gain weight. What information could be used to identify someone? Perhaps date of birth, if known, could be included on the list along with the name?

of all the repubs and heavy donors to these crooks and killers is complete, it will easily double the list of persons dangerous to this nation!
Seriously, that list should be in the making today with the leaders listed at the top and what they have received from the country and promoters for a job very poorly done! Then all the graft they have created with Iraq and all other "taking" from the US citizen! Don't forget the lives lost, due to these same people, and that is one long list.
Flyers with all this info should be made available to all all over the nation! Shopping centers and churches would cover a lot of people!
