GM's sales fall by 11% despite discounts
Customers avoided car showrooms in November, despite lower gas prices and deep discounts, handing automakers a disappointing month.

The Big Three - GM, Ford and Chrysler - reported lower November sales on Thursday. Even Toyota, which had gotten used to double-digit sales growth, only had modest gains.

U.S. auto sales were down 7 percent overall compared with last November. The seasonally adjusted annual sales rate was 15.7 million vehicles. Last year's annual sales totaled 17 million vehicles.

.......

General Motors Corp.'s vehicle sales fell 11.1 percent overall, led by a 16.7 percent decrease in sales of trucks and SUVs. Car sales slid 3 percent. The automaker's four Lansing-made products did not fare well. The best-performing Lansing vehicle last month was the Cadillac CTS, made at Lansing Grand River assembly alongside the Cadillac STS and SRX.

2. GM
I have a growing fear that, barring any radical change in product line, GM's sales will mirror Bush's approval rating trend.
