UN workers risk sack over strike

The head of UN health agency, the World Health Organisation (WHO), has warned his staff they could be dismissed if they choose to join a one-hour strike.
WHO workers plan to strike on Wednesday to protest at feared job cuts arising from the use of short-term contracts.

WHO boss Lee Jong-wook said a strike would tarnish the agency's image as it prepares for a possible flu pandemic.

A strike at the WHO is unprecedented and reflects deep dissatisfaction among some staff, says a BBC correspondent

1. I believe one of the WHO doctors died in the Sars epidemic!!!
that probably slipped the bosses mind!!!
