Insurgents kill two U.S. troops in western Iraq

Baghdad - Insurgents have killed two U.S. soldiers in two separate incidents in the west of Iraq, Iraqi and U.S. security sources reported Tuesday.

In Fallujah, an insurgent sniper shot dead a U.S. soldier in a patrol in the centre of the city late Monday, policeman Mohammed Ahmed said.

Ahmed said that U.S. troops retaliated but accidentally injured a civilian in the vicinity of the shooting and arrested six others at the site.
U.S. military sources said they had no information on the incident.

Meanwhile, the U.S. military said a U.S. soldier was killed in action when his vehicle was attacked with a homemade bomb while conducting combat operations in the vicinity of Habbaniyah on Monday.
