Iraq leaders demand pullout timetable
Exactly at the same time, Iraqis demand the troops withdrawal - and neocons want more of the same.

Christian, Shia, Sunni and Kurdish leaders also on Monday demanded the release of prisoners and a programme for rebuilding Iraq's armed forces after talks in Cairo aimed at ending conflict between their communities and achieving national reconciliation.
At the end of the three-day meeting sponsored by the Cairo-based Arab League, the Iraqi leaders called for the withdrawal of US and British forces from Iraq by immediately setting a timetable for gradually rebuilding Iraq's armed forces.

1. Who are they to demand anything?
We are the New Rome. We will tell them when where and why they can make demands. Their freedom and democracy is far more important than their independence.

OIL WARS.

3. The Rome Part is only Partially True
Under Clinton we may have been Rome... now we burn under a man close to Nero.

6. That should make a campaign platform they can all unite around:
US out of Iraq.

Then the legislature can have a vote and be done with it. We should be able to have our troops out by February.

Don't expect to see it, and don't expect the reason to be US threats.

8. NY Times: Iraqi Factions Seek Timetable for U.S. Pullout
By HASSAN M. FATTAH
Published: November 22, 2005
CAIRO, Nov. 21 - For the first time, Iraq's political factions on Monday collectively called for a timetable for withdrawal of foreign forces, in a moment of consensus that comes as the Bush administration battles pressure at home to commit itself to a pullout schedule.

The announcement, made at the conclusion of a reconciliation conference here backed by the Arab League, was a public reaching out by Shiites, who now dominate Iraq's government, to Sunni Arabs on the eve of parliamentary elections that have been put on shaky ground by weeks of sectarian violence.

About 100 Sunni, Shiite and Kurdish leaders, many of whom will run in the election on Dec. 15, signed a closing memorandum on Monday that "demands a withdrawal of foreign troops on a specified timetable, dependent on an immediate national program for rebuilding the security forces," the statement said.

"The Iraqi people are looking forward to the day when foreign forces will leave Iraq, when its armed and security forces will be rebuilt and when they can enjoy peace and stability and an end to terrorism," it continued.

9. I am reading
this all over the place. Not a word from CNN or MSNBC. I just took the time to send them over a little email. I just wanted to know if they thought this was new worth reporting.
