(Katherine) Harris still lagging in race, poll finds
Katherine Harris continues to struggle for traction in the race for U.S. Senate, while the governor's race remains a dead heat for Republicans.

BY MARY ELLEN KLAS

[email protected]

TALLAHASSEE - Republican U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris, who has faltered at fundraising and endured furtive attempts by GOP leaders to recruit a candidate to replace her in the race for the U.S. Senate, remains substantially behind her Democratic opponent, according to a new independent poll.

The Quinnipiac University survey shows U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, the incumbent Democrat, would easily sail into a second term with 55 percent of the vote, compared to just 31 percent for Harris, if the election were held today.

In the governor's race to replace Gov. Jeb Bush, who is barred by term limits from running again, the poll shows that state Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher leads Attorney General Charlie Crist slightly, 38-36 -- a statistical tie.

But for the first time, Democrat U.S. Rep. Jim Davis of Tampa appears to have gained ground and is in a dead heat with both Crist and Gallagher if the general election were held today. However, Democratic primary voters are still largely undecided, with 25 percent backing Davis and 15 percent supporting state Sen. Rod Smith of Gainesville.

4. That's "Kathy" with a "K" as in KKK. Kathy likes to suppress minority

voting rights, just like the KKK, except she does it with butterfly ballots, hanging chads and purging voter lists of fake felons rather than using dogs, fire hoses and night riders.

9. Personal experience w/ Harris - will make you ill!
Everybody remember the Anthrax scare?
I was managing a Temporary Employment Service at the time.
Ms. Harris' office had never called on our services before the day the first letters began to arrive.
One of her Aides called us to send a Temporary Employee to open her MAIL! I flatly refused and began to call the other Services in town, low and behold - they all had been contacted and all refused.
This woman doesn't only like to suppress the minority she feels that people of little means are dispensable!!! I guess one Dead Temporary Employee due to opening her mail would have been less a loss than missing even one of her Botox renewal forms.
I have kept this quiet for years now in fear of her retribution. Living in her town, her ability to play "gotcha" is public knowledge.

Do I hear helicopters??????????

3. It would be lovely for her to lose,
And then she would be out of office, right? She can't run for Congress and the Senate at the same time.

13. I can't wait until she snaps and goes berserk on the GOP, who left her
high and dry in Florida. Payback time, she'll think. Confess the whole deal with Florida in 2000... just icing on the cake for the Election Fraud Case (hopefully...)!!

20. I have heard
This is only rumor, but I have heard that the GOP is looking to get her campaign funds up to $20 million. Either through direct donations, or fund raisers for her. I wonder if we can suck them dry between Santorum, DeWine and her. Will they cut her loose to save Santorum? Will they write both off and try to save DeWine? Maybe they will try to knock off Jimmy Carters son in NV and abandon all three of them. Lets make them work!!!
