No chance for media to grill Bush
http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/10/22/1066631501085.html

US President George Bush will dodge media questioning during his Australian visit, in a breach of normal protocol.

At the White House's insistence, Mr Bush will not hold any news conferences with Prime Minister John Howard and strict restrictions are being imposed on media access to the visit.

Joint news conferences are normally held with leaders on official visits, with opportunities for journalists from both nations to ask questions.

A spokeswoman for the United States embassy said she believed the decision not to hold a news conference was based on a desire to focus media attention on the address Mr Bush will deliver to a joint parliamentary sitting today.

2. Coward
Bush is such a coward. He doesn't even have the presence of mind to be able to stand in front of reporters and answer questions (unless it's a staged event).

It's a sad time in America when we have such an individual as President*.

3. It just dawned on me,
maybe if we can make the world safer for Georgie Boy, he wouldn't be so friggin paranoid.....and would stop leveling other countries out of fear?

The war on terror IS real to him. He's the most unsafe person on the earth. And it is in humanity's best interest to make the little shit feel safe!

Sometimes I wake up and just think: how in the world did the US become one of the worst aggressors in history?! It's astounding.

18. You got that right!
I hate the Piece Of Shit and the whole world hates him also. I think that Jr and the Bush Crime family should retire to an deserted Island where the world won't have to be subject to seeing the shit family ever again.
Maybe Tweety could be Jr's cabana boy.

4. 1000's die, and he can't even face the heat of foreign press?
Why am i surprised? He never has faced the heat for anything he has ever done. I am disgusted that anyone would consider voting for him in 2004

5. They're gonna keep chimpy under wraps
for as long as it takes. Tightly controlled appearances and only the lapdog press (Fox News) gets to ask any questions. That is until they can concoct another disaster to keep the public in a state of fear.

6. why would any of us think that there would be real press
conferences in other countries, there are none here -

we do not have a "free and open" press.

Bush has had no unscripted "press conferences" in the US since taking office.

This is just more of his "my way or the highway" rhetoric.

"Here's my speech (written and delivered by teleprompter) and f*** off" - is the message.

20. Watch for an end of the "press conferences" here
when foreign leaders visit. You know, the three questions and "We're off to lunch" interchanges between * and the WH Puppies. They've already eliminated real press conferences.

Embarassing us everywhere he goes. The President of The United States, afraid to talk to reporters. How can half the people still approve of this spoiled little rich boy's job performance?

12. people approve of Boosh (like that one) because
they only hear the spin. Most of the time you still have to go looking for news that isn't spun in favor of the idiot son. This is the reason I highly doubt Rove will allow ANY debates not moderated by a Faux news talking head- if he allows any at all.

George W. Boosh: the Republican Party's useful idiot.

Well, THAT makes sense! If he looked at Bush, he'd probably burst out
laughing, and spew terraist spittle full of possible cold viruses at the
Commander-in-Thief!

It always amazes me that "spokespersons" can keep a straight face
when they're spouting what you and I and they all know is patently
bullshit.

13. Maybe the reporters didn't like being handed the questions to ask Junior
If junior* doesn't know the questions ahead of time, he can't be expected to answer. Lets face it, the answers are pretty sub-par even when he* knows ahead of time what the questions are, and who will be asking them, right?

Australian press probably couldn't be relied upon to stay on script.

So it goes. No press conference.

17. Why does president Bush constanly duck the media?
How come this "Great Leader", "the uniter of nations" is always ducking press conferences? This is a clear sign that someone else is pulling the strings. He is just a puppet! He does not have the ability to answer questions in an impromptu format. All of his answers always seem to be scripted and rehearsed. Quite badly, if I may add. I cannot wait until he is out of office. I want Bill back!!!!!!!

They rule. And what're you going to do about it?

That's the only question a dicator ever asks or needs to answer.

22. Reuters: "Satan declares intent to grill Bush."
NINTH CIRCLE, Hell (Reuter's) - Lord of Hell Satan intends to grill American president George W. Bush, sources said Friday.

"All Pandemonium is looking forward to welcoming Mr. Bush to the Big Red Machine," spokesdemon Beelzebub said, standing in front of a gridiron suspended over a bottomless pit of undying coals. "We've been instructed to prepare a particularly appropriate greeting."

"Have you ever tasted paranoid Crawford dictator?" added Undersecretary of Chaos Belial. "It's got a unique flavor, sort of like Maine lobster but with a phony southwestern accent. Slow roast it over an open flame for five or six thousand centuries. Wee doggies, that's good eatin'."

When asked about rumors that Bush and Satan have fallen out over Bush's failure thus far to provoke a nuclear holocaust, Beelzebub abruptly terminated the press conference.
