Green group accuses Schweitzer (D-MT) of betraying the environment
Green group accuses Schweitzer of betraying the environment

By WALT WILLIAMS Chronicle Staff Writer

An environmental group battling Holcim Inc. over the company's plan to burn tires says that Gov. Brian Schweitzer is turning his back on protecting the environment.

To make its point, the Montana Environmental Information Center of Helena noted the state's recent decision allowing Holcim to continue using waste slag at its Trident cement plant while it waits for an environmental study to be completed.

1. sounds like it's only one group with an agenda against him
read the rest of the article, other environmental groups seem okay with him--anything has to be a step up from the Repukes who ran the state

2. yeah it looks like it
maybe not necessarily an agenda, but sometimes these watchdog groups will pick at anything no matter what somebody does. Schweitzer isn't perfect, but the guy hasn't made a wrong move yet this year. Not as far as I can tell.

It's ridiculous to say he isn't better than Judy Martz though. She was probably the most embarassing Governor in MT history, he's better than her on the environment just by the fact that he's in office. He's better than any MT governor in recent memory. On the environment and everything else too.

4. oh thank god I moved away
before that train wreck happened. Counterpunch writer Jeffrey St. Claire called Martz "Marc Racicot's bumbling sidekick." And, that was about the nicest thing I ever heard anybody say about her. :)
