Rebound Sets Campaign Team into Action

Heartened by opinion polls indicating President Bush's six-month slide may have ended, his aides are working to reassure supporters that his standing is solid despite a fall full of setbacks.

Bush aides expressed relief at several polls this week, including a Washington Post-ABC News poll released yesterday, that found the president's approval rating stabilizing after a steady drop since Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was ousted in mid-April. Bush's approval rating in the Post-ABC poll was 53 percent. That is statistically unchanged from the end of last month, and 5 percentage points down from mid-September.

Although aides contend that Bush disdains polls, he paused to relish his latest showing during an interview yesterday about his upcoming trip to Asia.

"There was a poll that showed me going up yesterday, not to be on the defensive," he told Australia's Channel 9 television, according to an Associated Press report. "Actually, I'm in pretty good shape, politically. I really am. I didn't mean to sound defensive. But I am. Politicians, by the way, who pay attention to the polls are doomed, trying to chase opinion when what you need to do is lead, set the tone."

I trust them to the extent that I trust the media companies who run the Whore Nets to present factual, unslanted information in their alleged newscasts.

Please note that your "major" polls are mostly presented in partnership with the same TV networks who have been whoring for bu$h (at least openly) since 2000.

it will work with the best advertising techniques available to those who want to sell an inferior product--remember though, they are not regulated for truth or honesty. Everything is on "go"-- People will believe it, be titillated by it, be emotionally connected to the brand name and any other sideways means, including outright lying, these slimeballs can think of to sell this rotten, cowardly, evil murderer, the presidential wannabe, who calls himself president --this man is the most insane leader in the world today--he is armed and dangerous and has no clue whatsoever as to his symptoms--he has got to, actually , believe his own lies-the method demands it-he is pathological, I am convinced. Poll: Democrats poll well against Bush

Oct. 14, 2003  |  WASHINGTON (AP) -- Democrats match up well against President Bush in a new poll that highlights his vulnerability on Iraq and the economy.

The ABC News-Washington Post poll found that 49 percent of registered voters would support an unnamed Democrat and 44 percent would support Bush in a head-to-head matchup.

Among all adults, Bush, at 46 percent, and the Democrat, at 47 percent, were virtually tied. Bush led the Democratic candidate by 13 points among all adults in April; in August, he led by 8 points.

Bush trailed among independents by 6 points and among moderates by 14 points. He trailed among elderly people by 8 points.

5. I find the coverage of this "rebound"...

...as compared to the coverage of the slow drip, drip in ALL of the polls over the past several months...well, dubious. So after months of poorer and poorer showings, he is heartened by one poll that has him bumping up within the MOE. Haha, are these people BORN morons?

He wouldn't invade Iraq - after massing the troops there - until his phony propaganda machine racheted up public support of the invasion to 60% or higher. I am convinced that was the magic number.

And it didn't get that high until the lies came in thick and heavy at the UN and in the State of the Union speech.

9. This is hilarious

One poll does not make a rebound, especially when overy other poll shows him dropping or leveling off at barely above 50 percent. And that ABC poll shows him losing among registered voters to an unnamed Dem 44-49 percent. I think Bush benefited from last week's media coverage of the recall, but all that did was temporarily stop his slide. I hate to say it, but I suspect that Gallup poll was done specifically to help Bush.

I don't think it was the recall that gave Bush the push. I think it was the media showing sound bites of democratic candidates attacking each other in the last debate over and over and over again. Did anyone else notice this. This is what the media and the Republicans want. Democrats fighting each other. I wish these candidates would stop. They are only hurting themselves and the party. You know who you are.

16. This Based on Two DUBIOUS Gallup Polls!

This is a major PR and propoganda offensive being put forth by the WH. The post should be ashamed. Every other major poll indicates a downward trend, at best a stabilization. Gallup is no longer credible at all.
