Ahead of Bush visit, U.S. surveillance planes scour jungles to protect American counterterrorism trainers

MANILA, Philippines, Oct. 13 — The U.S. military has deployed surveillance planes to scour jungles in the Philippines for al-Qaida-linked guerrillas posing a threat to American counterterrorism trainers, officials told The Associated Press on Monday.

The heightened security comes ahead of a visit Saturday by President Bush and after the Philippines scored a victory in the war on terrorism by killing one of the most wanted terrorist suspects in Asia, a top bombmaker for the regional group Jemaah Islamiyah.

Praise rolled in Monday from U.S., Australian and Singapore officials for the shootout that ended a manhunt for the escaped Jemaah Islamiyah operative — and a major embarrassment for President Gloria Mapacapagal Arroyo.

1. It's just a matter of time before they start carpet bombing
every foreign place before * goes to visit. For security - it's hard for evil-doer terrists that want to get him to hide in a giant smoldering parking lot.

2. How Much Is That Going To Cost?
Can't he just televise his visit from his hidey-hole at Offut AFB where he hid out on 9/11?

4. George, George, George of the Jungle
George, george, george of the jungle
Strong as he can be
Ahhh
Watch out for that tree

George, george, george of the jungle
Lives a life that’s free
Ahhh
Watch out for that tree

When he gets in scrapes
When he makes his escapes
With the help of his friend
An ape named ape

Then away he’ll schlep
On his elephant shep
While fella and ursula
Stay in step with

George, george, george of the jungle
Friend to you and me
Ahhh
Watch out for that tree
Watch out for that (ahhh) (oooh) tree

10. Don't worry.
Whistle ass won't be traveling much after next year's election. The U.$. government doesn't include this sort of junket and expenditure for a post-presidency. The Chimp will simply retire to Crawford and play checkers with Pickles. Whilst in self-imposed exile in rural Texas, he'll delude himself with his "war stories and presidential heroism" and saving 'Merika from the terrists. This will be one more story he can tell his grand kids...besides recounting Poppy's WWII epic cowardice and his own AWOL / desertion drug debacle...maybe, he'll even mention his grandpa Prescott ties with the Nazis, too.

11. Christ almighty
Are they going to make sure the palm trees are all planted in a line, too? This "popular wartime president" sure seems to need a lot of protection every time he ventures out in public . . .
