U.S. Soldier Found Dead in Kuwait Base (#1769)
http://www.tuscaloosanews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050719/API/507190688&cachetime=3&template=dateline

A U.S. soldier has died in a noncombat-related incident at an American base in this Gulf state, and an investigation is under way, the military said Tuesday.

The soldier's body was found Tuesday at Camp Arifjan, south of Kuwait City, and his identity was being withheld pending notification of relatives, the military said.

Some 10,000 U.S. troops are based in Kuwait as part of a defense pact with Washington signed after the 1991 Gulf War liberated this country from a seven-month Iraqi occupation under Saddam Hussein.

This small oil-rich state in the Gulf was the launching pad for the 2003 invasion of Iraq that toppled Saddam's regime and is still a major logistical base for American and other coalition forces serving in Iraq.

1. That's ... odd?
Found on the base? How'd he die? Heart attack? Murder? Suicide? Stray bullet?

2. HOW MANY MORE GEORGIE, HOW MANY MORE?

B.f.p.o.*
Army dreamers.
Mammy’s hero.
B.f.p.o.
Mammy’s hero.

Our little army boy
Is coming home from b.f.p.o.
I’ve a bunch of purple flowers
To decorate a mammy’s hero.

Mourning in the aerodrome,
The weather warmer, he is colder.
Four men in uniform
To carry home my little soldier.

What could he do?
Should have been a rock star.
But he didn’t have the money for a guitar.
What could he do?
Should have been a politician.
But he never had a proper education.
What could he do?
Should have been a father.
But he never even made it to his twenties.
What a waste --
Army dreamers.
Ooh, what a waste of
Army dreamers.

Tears o’er a tin box.
Oh, jesus christ, he wasn’t to know,
Like a chicken with a fox,
He couldn’t win the war with ego.

Give the kid the pick of pips,
And give him all your stripes and ribbons.
Now he’s sitting in his hole,
He might as well have buttons and bows.

Ooh, what a waste of all that
Army dreamers,
Army dreamers,
Army dreamers, oh...

(b.f.p.o.)
Did-n-did-n-did-n-dum...
Army dreamers.
Did-n-did-n-did-n-dum...
(mammy’s hero.)
(b.f.p.o.)
Army dreamers.
(mammy’s hero.)
(b.f.p.o.)
No harm heroes.
(mammy’s hero.)
(b.f.p.o.)
Army dreamers.
(mammy’s hero.)
(b.f.p.o.)
No harm heroes.

4. I'd like to know what happened to him...
Arifjan has a lot of troops crammed in there and things can get rough. Assault is not uncommon.
