KIRKUK - Gunmen killed three policemen and wounded two others in a drive by shooting in al-Rashad, 30 km (18.6 miles) west of the ethnically divided northern city of Kirkuk, police said. Colonel Yadgar Mohammed said the officers killed were in civilian clothes.

KIRKUK - Gunmen killed an Iraqi army soldier and seriously wounded another female soldier in central Kirkuk in a drive-by shooting, police said.

BASRA - A policeman was killed and another wounded after gunmen shot them in the southern city of Basra, police said.

BAGHDAD - Gunmen opened fire on a four-man crew of the state television station Iraqiya as they drove to film the funeral of some of the 27 civilians killed in Wednesday's suicide bomb in the New Baghdad district of the capital. Three of the journalists were wounded in what the station said was a targetted ambush of its crew.
