Nebraskans to go on trade mission to Cuba
By NATE JENKINS / Lincoln Journal Star

A Nebraska delegation will conduct a first-ever trade mission to Cuba in August, spurred by ripe market conditions and positive signals sent recently by the country that is slowly growing as a U.S. trade partner despite a 40-year embargo.

While reviewing U.S. detention facilities at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba last week, U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., spoke with the country's purchasing agent, Pedro Alvarez, said Nelson spokesman David DiMartino.

"Alvarez was very knowledgeable about Nebraska products and was very interested in having discussions about how to purchase the dry beans especially," DiMartino said.

Nelson and U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., have both sought to make it easier to trade with Cuba

4. Cool, Mom Cat, but surely you jest ...
The "Corn Palace" is located in Mitchel, South Dakota.

Now, I'll concede that there's many corn fields in Nebraska also, but the state is known for the Omaha Stockyards.

That smell, that bovine mixture, *the smell*, smells like cow shit!

On Topic: Yes, the steaks are high (and looking good) for NE and Cuba to trade.

*anything but finish the wash, ya know. :P <trudging off to real world>
