"US not against good Iran-Iraq ties": Rice

Thursday, June 23, 2005 - ©2005 IranMania.com

LONDON, June 23 (IranMania) - US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, said that it is a "good thing" that Iran and Iraq have good relations.

"You know we don't have relations with Iran, Iraqis do. The Iraqis have relations with their Iranian neighbour and we think that it is a good thing," Rice told a press conference after the end of the one-day international conference on Iraq in Brussels Wednesday evening.

"We have every desire for there to be good relations with Iraq and all its neighbors, including Iran," she added.

Rice said she did not meet Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi who also participated in the conference.
