2. I wonder what the US involvement is with his activities.
From wikipedia "It is alleged that Posada has worked for the Cuban-American National Foundation (CANF), which denies any connection. "

6. If this guy would speak...
at least Bush I, Clinton and Bush II, along with large parts of their administrations would have to stay in prison for the rest of their lives for harbouring, supporting, financing and arming terrorism. Most of U.S. intelligence and the Pentagon would have to be considered terrorist organisations.
This is why not only Bush II has reasons to refuse Chavez this guy.

Hello from Germany,

4. Venezuela rallies over Cuba exile
Tens of thousands of Venezuelans have rallied in the capital Caracas to demand the US extradites a Cuban exile accused of bombing an airliner in 1976.
The march comes a day after the US rejected Venezuela's request for it to arrest Cuban-born Luis Posada Carriles, saying there was not enough evidence.

Hypocrisy'

Supporters of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez took to the streets of the capital, blowing whistles and chanting anti-US slogans. The BBC's Iain Bruce in Caracas says there was good humour and dancing, but despite the festive mood among protesters it is clear that many people feel strongly about the issue.
Some accused US President George W Bush of double standards. "Bush is protecting a terrorist while he is supposedly fighting against terrorism - that's hypocrisy," Pedro Caldera said.

7. A man,Jesus Marrero, surfaced here who claims Posada had him tortured
in Venezuela, when Posada Carriles worked for later impeached President Carlos Andres Perez. From the Miami Herald:
In his May 11 interview with The Herald, Posada denied knowing Marrero.

However, in his 1994 autobiography, The Roads of the Warrior, Posada mentioned Marrero as one of several members of the guerrilla group Bandera Roja who were detained or killed or who disappeared during his tenure.
In the book, Posada linked Bandera Roja and other guerrilla groups to kidnappings, assassinations and attacks on police units in Caracas and other large Venezuelan cities. Posada said in the book that the groups were funded and trained by Cuba.

Marrero told The Herald that his group was not financed by Cuba and that its leaders had some disagreements with Cuban policies. Marrero was at a rally in Caracas Thursday aimed at collecting signatures to lobby prosecutors to open a new extradition case against Posada based on his torture allegations.

Marrero also accused Posada of ordering the murder of another detained rebel whom he identified by his nickname of Pancho Alegria. Marrero later said that Alegria's real name was Angel Maria Castillo of the Guerrilla group PRV, (Revolutionary Party of Venezuela).

Posada acknowledged to The Herald that one of his subordinates at DISIP killed Alegria, but denied having anything to do with it. He said the officer found Alegria on the street and shot him to death -- without authorization. ''Pancho Alegria was a wanted guerrilla. He was a captain of a guerrilla group,'' Posada told The Herald. ``A subordinate of mine found him and killed him. He did it on his own; he shouldn't have done it.''
