Bush says tired of waiting on energy bill
Under pressure to do more to bring down soaring gas prices, President Bush pointed the finger at U.S. lawmakers on Wednesday he said have been "talking too long" on his proposed energy bill.

"I think the American people are tired of waiting. I know they are. I submitted a plan to Congress four years ago, and I'm getting a little tired of waiting on an energy bill," Bush told reporters.

"Congress has been talking too long about the energy bill, and now's the time to get it to my desk."

Bush, on the defensive with gasoline prices averaging around $2.13 nationwide, has urged lawmakers to send him a broad package revamping U.S. energy policy by Aug. 1.

9. No he agreed that it won't actually

WASHINGTON, April 20 - President Bush demanded on Wednesday that Congress send a long-stalled energy bill to his desk for signing by the summer, even as he admitted that the legislation would do nothing to lower the rising gasoline prices

36. Perhaps more hand holding among the bluebells
is in order. That should help bring the price of fuel down.

5. Why don't you devise an energy bill
that will actually do something? Hello? Bring down demand? Bring on other sources? I'm so sick of his whining about this when he IS the problem. Don't finger point at me when you made the mess. Your idiotic energy bill isn't passing because it doesn't address the problem - bottom line. And another thing, it would be great if we would address energy, but you keep sidetracking us with Terri Shiavo, nuclear option, social security. This is completely your fault so quit bitching at us, get off your ass and let's get going!

12. Always taking our names in vain.
Have you noticed?

The entire Republican apparatus uses this formulation: "The American people want -- or don't want (depending on circumstances) -- _______________________ (miraculously, whatever the Republicans want or don't want)."

And there are many dumbfucks out there who then adopt the Bush regime's view as soon as they learn that it is what they want.

14. Five months into his second term and he's already a lame duck.
He's trying his best to regain any momentum with the old tricks: ridiculing the opposition, making false claims about the benefits of this legislative agenda, and setting arbitrary deadlines.

He sounds desperate.

24. Let's give him a list of things we're tired of waiting for:
Like a healthcare policy that protects Americans - not corporations.

Envronmental policies that benefit the enviroment (and Americans since we're part of that environment) - not the corporation who dump pollutants into air or water.

Securing social security for those of who've paid into it.

Protecting the retirement of workers from unscrupulous CEO's.

How about just upholding the Constitution - instead of pouring religion into Congress?

Instead what do we get - Congressional investigations into steroids and Do Not Call legislation.

16. "I am a patient man" he says, tapping his foot impatiently...
"I say it in my speeches that I am a patient man. And when I say I am a patient man, I mean I am a patient man. And that we will look at all options, and we will consider all technologies available to us, and diplomacy and intelligence."

41. Bush's hydrogen photo op
Did you catch the illustrious "news" on tv last evening? Bush was grinning and talking with that phony Yale southern drawl at a hydrogen fuel station. When asked by the press if the prices would be better than for gasoline, the station operator tried to demur, but Bush pushed the question. The operator said, to the effect of "well, it's up over $4 but that's for kgms". Bush smiled, having catapulted the propaganda enough for one day, I guess.
