The Save UH/Stop UARC Coalition vacated Bachman Hall last Wednesday, returning it to University of Hawai'i interim President David McClain. But protesters vowed to return if the administration fails to fulfill their demands.
The Coalition ended a six-day sit-in protest of a proposed University Affiliated Research Center at UH Manoa campus in collaboration with the Navy. <snip>
McClain agreed to a majority of the Coalition's four demands, including a request that the UARC proposal not be brought back to the Board of Regents before Oct. 1. <snip>
"We've collected a little over $800. What we're thinking of doing is putting it into a Save UH/Stop UARC account and let it sit there for next time," Collier said. "If interim President McClain doesn't stop the UARC, which is still our demand, we'll have to come back and occupy the building."
