Bamberg sergeant major demoted for wrongful appropriation, adultery

By Rick Emert, Stars and Stripes

BAMBERG, Germany — A 1st Infantry Division sergeant major was sentenced to a reprimand and reduction in rank to sergeant first class Thursday after being convicted of several offenses that took place between November 2003 and March 2004.

Sgt. Maj. Tony Foster, formerly the command sergeant major for 1st Battalion, 6th Field Artillery Regiment, was convicted by a panel of officers and enlisted members of wrongful appropriation, conspiracy to commit wrongful appropriation, making a false official statement, obstructing justice and two counts of adultery.

He had been charged with larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny, but the panel found him guilty of the lesser charges. Most of the charges stemmed from a March 15 incident in which Foster and then-1st Sgt. Stephen Wall took carpeting, tables and a refrigerator from a building belonging to another unit on Forward Operating Base Gabe in Iraq.

Military Officer Arrested For Allegedly Soliciting Sex On Internet

SAN ANTONIO -- A 32-year-old active duty military officer from Montana was arrested Monday for allegedly traveling to San Antonio to have sex with an undercover police officer who he thought was a teenage girl.

Jonathan Henry Buck, who is stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, was charged with solicitation of a minor and attempted sexual assault. He's being held in the Bexar County Jail on $100,000 bond.

San Antonio police said Buck had been communicating with an undercover police officer in an Internet chat room, where he allegedly talked about his sexual experiences and repeatedly asked the officer to meet for sex.

"The communications they had were very explicit, very risque," said San Antonio police spokesman Gabe Trevino. "They were conversations that you would never want a 14-year-old child to be engaged with anybody, much less on the Internet."

2. When I was in the Navy we called committing adultery
"paying the hooker", and getting stuff for the boat from wherever was called "cumshawing". And both activities were admired and or ignored. Our new PC military doesn't cut much slack anymore. Glad I'm not in it.
