(Sen. Kit) Bond Aide Names Web Site After Carnahan Airplane
By Terry Ganey

"A member of Sen. Christopher "Kit" Bond's staff has created a pro-Republican Web site called "N8354N", the tail number of the plane that crashed and killed Gov. Mel Carnahan, his son Randy and aide Chris Sifford.

EDIT

The "N8354N" site includes links with names such as "Drunk with power" that connects to the official site of Rep. Karen McCarthy, D-Kansas City. McCarthy has undergone treatment for alcoholism this year.

The site also includes a label "Show me the asses" that links to the official Web site of the Missouri Democratic Party, whose sumbol is a donkey.

EDIT

The explanation from Bond's office was not enough for (ed. - MO Democratic consultant Roy) Temple, who had Sifford in his wedding as best man."

EDIT

2. What a low life.
At least Bond had the decency to fire the moron who created it. I must say that the guy who created it isn't too far from a mainstream Republican these days though.

4. Repukes are really just the dirtiest lowest opponents in the world.
They should make the few decent ones (if there are any left)hide their heads in shame.

5. Fuck Bond.
I hate the nazi prick. He's almost as bad as Johnnie Wad Asscrapped.

Jim Talent is another prick. He's president of the Missouri Chapter of Hilter Youth.

6. Shocked
No really, I am.

Okay, so sarcasm doesn't come off very well. It just goes to prove that neocons have no morals and don't care how low they stoop. I am sure this guy thought he was "bringing the funny."

Thank goodness he was fired.

7. Gee, Kit, will you be calling Jean Carnahan anytime soon to apologize?
How about Chris Sifford's parents?

What a fuckstick.

9. Again, spare me your moral outrage...
I'm sorry, but I find it a little hypocritical to tout moral outrage at this after the kinds of things that are frequently said here about republicans, the kind of webites that linked to which are just as tastess when they are anti-republican as they are when they are anti-democrat.

Is the sight wrong? Sure it is - but I think the rhetoric around here should be dialed down to about five, seeing as how we are frequently no better towards our opponents.

More sad than that - if this had been the aid of a democratic congressman running a website that named the tail wing number of a plane that crashed killing a republican, I believe over 50% of the people here would not express outrage, but would actually defend the aid.

So let's just remember that..

10. From the other dupe thread
Someone pointed out that this a community that does not act with a collective voice, and that is absolutely true and a valid point.

But I said that I feel it is enough of a "presence" here that if anything, rather than posts of moral superiority in respose to this issue, perhaps more fitting would be some collective personal reflection. And I say this for myself as well. To think to ourselves, "hmm.. I'm not speaking of my opponents down at this level am I? Do I actually hate my opponents so much that I would have the same kind of attitudes that prompted this guy to do this? Do I act more like a statesman or more like an emibttered, mean-spirited republican hater?"

It's a question I'll be thinking about today...

11. You are wrong

When Sen. Slade Gorton's son committed suicide a few weeks ago, there were dozens of posts expressing sympathy for the tragedy that had overtaken the man and his family, even though he happened to be a member of a party whose goals and ideology we oppose.

One person (out of dozens of posters) tried to take a cheap shot at Gorton, and got slapped down, hard and immediately, by many more DU posters.

Yeah, the rhetoric can get overheated around here some times. But you will never - EVER - find the degree of personal, vindictive venom that you'll find in hundreds and hundreds of posts at pukefests like Free Republic, Lucianne.com or most of the "conservative" sites out there.

Don't try to erect a straw man of moral equivalency by stating that "over 50%" of DU posters possess the same degree of blind hatred that animates our political opponents.
