Bush Experiencing Unfortunate Pattern Of Second-Term Presidents
WASHINGTON (KRT) - President Bush on Thursday used a format he does not like to discuss issues he cannot resolve in hopes that he can sell the American people on policies most say they don't want.

In other words, he has fallen into the unfortunate pattern for second-term presidents who face a broad constellation of things gone wrong and few ways to fix them quickly.

The reviews of this evening's babblefest are coming in, and they ain't very pretty.

23. it really is amazing how fast its happening isn't it?
Almost all 2nd term presidents have been hamstrung somewhere in the second term. But this is happening faster than I thought. It is fun to watch these pigs twist and gyrate on their own petards, however, there is a downside to it. I fear that they will learn how to cope soon, and the lame-duck thing will pass.

Why didn't the phrase "Lame Duck President" ever get any serious mention when his 2nd term started? Inquiring minds want to know.

(Actually they know more than they care to already.)

6. How marvelously ironic....
In 2002 he was heroicly campaigning for Republican Congressional candidates, flying from one state to the next investing his political capital for Republican control of Congress. In 2006 it looks like Republican candidates may want the lame duck babbler to stay at home! Babblefest!

he's already spent trillions of dollars on travel related to propaganda both his social security tour and his media hacks.

(google War Treasury department for information about him sneaking out the tax dollars to pay for the bamboozala tour)

61. Yes, his travels irk me too, especially regarding the Schiavo legislation.
He was on "vacation" in Crawford, which he interrupted, to fly back to Washington to sign the Schiavo Bill, He then flew back to his Crawford ranch to meet with Canadian and Mexican leaders. Wouldn't have been easier to fly the legislation out to him?? Noooo, not for flightsuit George who couldnt wait for the USS Abraham Lincoln to get into port!! Now he want Americans to conserve energy after he couldn't talk the Saudis into immediately boosting production!:toast:

Edited on Sat Apr-30-05 06:11 PM by ray of light
Each time he does this type of thing we need to repeat this well known phrase to EVERYONE, and not just the choir!

"Show me the money!!!"

In other words, where is he getting the money to do this? The answer SHOULD matter to most people. The propaganda, the travel, the silly excursions to promote another candidate is coming from OUR pocket--from OUR tax dollars. These are hidden spending, like the "war room" (laura Mechler a.p.) that has Republicans and neocons walking in with empty briefcases and walking out with MONEY--taxpayers money. And as I said before, this money is NOT in the budget he presented to the Congress. What does this indicate? It indicates that the CUTS to Medicare and veterans is paying for his travel and propaganda. This is not money well spent.

I sincerely hope all of you will find a way to involve your community in grassroots organizing. We can't afford to sit here waiting for a top-down solution. It's the daily contact with people that will introduce the "nonpoliticals" into understanding WHY who they vote for represents more than just a party but their own best interests. I really encourage everyone to hop on board at the democracy cell project because it's activism at it's grassroots level and it's effective too!

He has lost his grip on the whole damn thing and it is only gonna get worse for him. He will be seeing 25% approval ratings by late summer 2006. His own congress will be in open revolt and sweating bullets. The country will be screaming bloody murder.

14. "Babblefest"!! LOL
That's the perfect description! My husband watched for a bit, went off for a shower, and returned 20 minutes later to the same childish voice from the TV.

"Is he STILL prattling on??"

Prattle, babble, it's all the same thing: tedious. I gave up trying to decipher Bush**'s idiotic rubbish when he stated that passing the asbestos bill would be great for the economy. What the hell...?

Anyway, his low marks are no surprise. What a mendacious, irrelevant, out of touch goon.

Of course they are, because he didn't really WIN the election.

They'll plummet even more now as the people who actually did vote for his 'mandate' have the scales fall from their eyes.
