http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGBPUBWKE7E.html

NEW DELHI (AP) - India and China, the world's two most populous countries, agreed on Monday to create a "strategic partnership" in an effort to end their longstanding border dispute and boost trade and economic cooperation.

The agreement signaled a significant shift in relations between the two Asian giants after decades of mutual distrust and suspicion.

"India and China can together reshape the world order," Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said after a welcome ceremony for his Chinese counterpart, Premier Wen Jiabao, at India's presidential palace.

Together the two nations account for one-third the world's population.

2. But, but, but
What about Poppy and Chimpy's plan for a New World Order. They were first. Didn't China and India get the memo. Our New World Order is better than their New World Order.

(Actually, I am a conscientious objector to all these heirarchical Orders. Make mine Independence and Free Will puh-lease.)

3. They can kiss that shit goodbye.
It was a stupid idea in the first place, and it just becomes
more and more clear that that is so as time goes on.

everything from electronic games to nuclear technology and also communications and IT in India. It's only the American people who are going to miss the New World Order gravy train. Poppy and company are already on board. We're going down, they're going up and TPTB are going to profit handsomely in this expanding market with cheap labor while telling us we have to give up any idea of fair wages or benefits.

4. so, let's recap...
generally speaking:

India is where all our technology jobs are being out-sourced to.

China is where all our manufacturing jobs are being out-sourced to.

This partnership, then, will create the largest technology/manufacturing base in the world.

What have we got left here in 'Murika?

Faith-based jobs. :-(

17. We are done, only a matter of time
The U.S. is going the way of the former Soviet Union. Lots of weapons, a few rich guys who run everything, fascist government, fear and hate to keep the people distracted, and a society that dramatically fails most of the people.

10. good read jacob
i didn't know you were in JNU in '62. to add to your thoughts on wen's visit, pakistan has realised life-long enmity with india is not an option any more. whatever was there to prove to india was proven with the tit-for-tat tests in 98. the only ways beyond an overt nuclear posture are peace and full-scale war.
its easy to choose which way is the safest. i think the situation in south asia has slipped from US hands forever.

12. India, China Agree to Form Partnership
NEW DELHI - India and China, the world's two most populous countries, agreed Monday to form a strategic partnership to end a border dispute and boost trade in a deal marking a major shift in relations between the Asian giants.

The agreement, signed by both premiers, eases decades of mutual distrust between the nations, which share a mountainous, 2,500-mile border and fought a war in 1962. Parts of the border still are not demarcated.

"India and China can together reshape the world order," Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said at a ceremony for his Chinese counterpart, Premier Wen Jiabao, at India's presidential palace. Together, the two nations account for one-third of the world's population.

The agreement outlined steps to demarcate the disputed boundary through a "fair, reasonable and mutually acceptable solution, through equal and friendly consultations," a statement announcing the partnership said

14. That's good news!
Maybe Kashmir is next on India's agenda.
Well we can always hope.
"Together, the two nations account for one-third of the world's population." that's a lot of people.
This new millennium will surely belong to them, especially after * has finished with the US.

15. Two billion. And I doubt many of them are fooled by Bush.
Our days are over. But their days are just beginning. Look out planet earth. May we hope that they can pay great attention to population, and ecology. The days of European domination are waning.
