US calls Iran tour a media stunt (BBC News)
(It sort of reminds me of how Saddam wouldn't let the U.N. Inspectors in, so we had to invade.)

US calls Iran tour a media stunt
The US has dismissed a tour by journalists of a nuclear facility in Iran as a "staged media event".

Thursday, 31 March, 2005, 03:32 GMT 04:32 UK

The state department said Iran should be answering questions about what it is doing at the Natanz site, the existence of which was kept secret until 2002. Journalists accompanied Iran's president to the site on Wednesday.

The US is calling for Iran to give international inspectors full access to its nuclear facilities to allay fears that it has a secret arms programme. Tehran says its nuclear programme is for peaceful, civilian use only.

But US Deputy State Department spokesman Adam Ereli said: "If Iran were really serious about demonstrating transparency in its nuclear program, it should answer all of the International Atomic Energy Agency's outstanding questions.

"The point here is that if there is a commitment to transparency, there are real effective, meaningful ways to demonstrate that commitment, beyond a staged media event like is being reported." He said Iran should allow give inspectors from the IAEA "full and unrestricted access to suspicious sites", and allow its senior nuclear officials to be interviewed.

1. Oh, like the dingleberries...
in D.C. never hold a 'staged media event'. Puh- leez!

Sounds like they don't want any truth to get in the way of their next batch of bullshit.

When's Dick Cheney gonna start running around yelling "WMD's" and "Al Qaeda" in the same sentence with the word "Iran"? Which mullah will become the new "World's Most Dangerous Man"???

7. In other words. We are going to blow it to bits anyway. So screw you.
Typical Bu$h MO. Little or no reasons to murder brown people. Too bad we wiped out all the Indians. We wouldn`t have to travel to the other side of the planet to kill poor brown people.
Peace

9. Maybe we should take the tour! It would give our intelligence systems
Edited on Fri Apr-01-05 12:01 AM by mediaman007
some accurate information for a change.

Can you imagine that on the day that our intelligence services are toasted in a 600 page report, the administration has the gall to say that it has enough information on Iran to challenge them.

As a elementary school teacher, I have to say that our government behaves like a rude, thoughtless child. It doesn't know enough to keep its mouth shut, it doesn't have enough information, so it bluffs its way. In the end our government creates more problems than it solves because they act without information.

Remember when they said that "the adults are in charge now?" Well, if they were adults, they would have to tell us. I think that they are just school yard bullies.
