Italy church blast injures three
13 March, 2005

An explosion in a cathedral in the northern Italian city of Motta di Livenza has injured three people.

The blast, after Sunday morning Mass, appeared to have been triggered by a device inside an electric candle.

A six-year-old girl suffered serious hand and eye injuries. The two adults were lightly injured.

Police suspect the explosion may have been caused by a mystery attacker - the Italian Unabomber - who has terrorised northern Italy for over 10 years.
