Wal-Mart Increases Annual Dividend By Over 15 Percent
BENTONVILLE, Ark., March 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Board of Directors of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE: WMT - News) has approved an increase in the annual dividend to $0.60 per share, a 15.4% increase from the $0.52 per share paid during the previous fiscal year.

. . .

Based upon this announced increase, the Company plans to return more than $2.5 billion to its shareholders in the form of dividends this fiscal year. Wal-Mart has increased its dividend every year since its first declared dividend in March 1974.

According to yahoo finance: The % of Shares Held by All Insiders and Owners is 40%.

So 40% of this $2.5 billion dividend is $1.0 billion. That should help the Waltons put food on the table this year.

4. This is good news if you're a major stockholder.
Like John Kerry, for instance.

Though I only own 800 shares which is about .000001%, my return will be quite minimal :D

Hopefully this will prompt some movement.
