GOP Ads Try To Tie Dean To Terrorism
http://www.forward.com/articles/2711

this is a site you have to register to view the article, but registration is free.

A Jewish Republican group greeted Howard Dean's election to chair the Democratic National Committee this week with an ad campaign seeking to depict him as a supporter of terrorism.

The group, the Republican Jewish Coalition, placed full-page advertisements in the Washington newspaper Roll Call and in Jewish weeklies around the country, featuring a large picture of Hamas members decked out in costumes resembling suicide bombers. Above the photo, referring to a long-recanted September 2003 quote from Dean, is the statement: "DNC Chairman Howard Dean Says, 'It's not our place to take sides.'"

Beneath the photograph, the ad features 2003 quotes from Democrats, including Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who criticize Dean's remark.

..

The National Jewish Democratic Council called the Republicans' anti-Dean ad a "vicious smear campaign." It said the ad campaign "dangerously politicizes support for Israel, threatening the crucial legacy of bipartisan support for Israel."

Within the realm, it is Marquess.

However, on the continent, it is Marquis.

The question is whether the US could be considered "the continent" or whether it would be option #3:

"Hey, jackass! You're blocking the fight."

40. Hate to spoil your heroic fantasy: This isn't about the Republicans.
This is about a pro-Israeli group trying to see to it that Dean doesn't upset the apple cart.

They want Dean, like nearly all mainstream office-holding Democrats, to understand how important it is never to question Sharonism or a single act of the Israeli military.

Observe their use of Pelosi and Lieberman in the ad. That's done to show how docile, obedient Dems should behave.

No, this isn't partisanship of the Democratic-GOP kind, my friend. It's about ensuring that Israel continues to get carte blanche in its foreign policy from both parties.

And mark this: whatever fleeting displays of independence and self-direction Dean might have shown on the campaign trail, he will very quickly learn to put that behind him now. He's a full-time fund raiser now, and as the saying goes. . .the customer's always right.

Yes, Howard Dean is a threat to America.

No-that would be the government you have America, the one that did nothing to stop 9/11 and has done nigh squat except get Saddam in jail since then.

Does anybody ever ask how having Saddam in jail would stop a terrorist from getting on an airplane TODAY and raming into your dowtown landmark?

No, they don't.

The security here would be the first place to start. And they have done bandaid fixes on that.

Where's Osama?

Does the Taliban still exist?

How many warnings as the FAA ignored today?

33. "It's not our place to take sides." In context...
...that quote made perfect sense. I heard it in the context of the speech Dean gave, in which he argued against the U.S. being on one side or the other of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He argued that it would be best for the U.S. to take an even-handed role as a mediator for peace.

I AGREE 1000 PERCENT!

Maybe he should have said "Yes, it's our business..we need a draft right now and we shouuld send all the boys and girls over there to kill every last terrorist."

Would that be tough enough on terrorists?

Think, America. What's the answer to the rhetoric..if you get involved you make it your business to take on every bad guy in the world..it's your sons and daughters that pay for it..it's your country that pays for it.

3. The reported payoff by Bush Attorney Baker's Brit-Dutch client, Royal Dutch Shell Group to the Philippines Al Qaida franchisee, Abu
Sayyaf. This was reported in a law suit filed in the Netherlands. (Protection)

4. The reported payoff by Bush Attorney Baker's Brit-Dutch client, Royal Dutch Shell Group to the Indonesian Al Qaida franchisee, Jemaah Islamiah. This was also reported in a law suit filed in the Netherlands. (Protection)

5. The "Zelig" of all of this is Bush crime family consigliere, Jim Baker.
