Schwarzenegger blasts McClintock: Conspiracy Theory to elect a democrat!
Only moments after saying he "didn't like negative," Arnold Schwarzenegger launched into an attack Thursday on fellow Republican Tom McClintock by saying the state senator was being used by Indian casino owners to elect a Democratic governor.

Schwarzenegger questioned McClintock's allegiance to the GOP "because he is getting money from the same Indian tribes" as Democratic Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante. McClintock called the statement ridiculous and said he had been a supporter of Indian sovereignty long before some of the tribes opened casinos.

2. starting to get interesting
"I think that as far as Tom McClintock is concerned, I think the question I have for him is, what side is he on?" Schwarzenegger said. "Is he on the side of the Republicans? Does he represent the Republicans, or does he represent Bustamante?" --Arnold

He knows damn well that in an unscripted debate McClintock and Bustamante would tear his ass up.

6. Arnold's just jealous because...
...McClintock is a legitimate candidate. McClintock should tell him that if he ever sees him face to face. You don't question someone's loyalty and not expect it to get nasty.

7. This muscle-head ain't too smart, but he can lift heavy things.
The Gropenator represents the Bush/Enron Republicans. McClintock is the only California candidate running who represents traditional Republican values.

Another thing - The big difference between Ventura and Arnold, is that Ventura had integrity, where as Arnold and his Bush/Enron backers, represent only graft. Arnold is trying to follow Ventura the way the Monkeys tried to follow the Beatles. Arnold is a counterfit reformer. Arnold is a phoney.

Arnold's campaign is spending ten dollars for each campaign dollar of McClintock's, yet there seems to be a diminishing return. Dumbo still can't budge his poll numbers.

It seems there are a limited number of voter-aged iron-pumping bimbos in California, and the grope-group will never produce the ground-swell this muscle-man wished for.

"A pump is as good as a cum" Dumbo told Ophra, or is it "A pump is as good as a dump..." or perhaps in this case, "A pump is as good as a fart in a huricane."

At the end of this contrived Bush/Enron/Republican California power grab, the line I'm waiting to hear Conhead the Barbarian say is "I'll be back."

And another thing, I think this Nazi spawn, who still retains his Austrian citizenship, and never learned to speak English, should go back to his homeland and run for office there.

in fact some of my best friends are European, and some of them even speak with accents. In fact, in many places of the world, I speak with an accent.

I didn't mean to insult weight-lifters either. But if I were insulting them, I'd rather do it here in this forum, than at some gym or perhaps a hockey game.

8. that's funny
I am no McClintock fan but I cauaght him on TV recently. He seemed pretty genuine to me. He voiced his conservative views, wasn't shrill (like a typical neo-con) was articulate in his views. He didn't depend on cute lines or sound bytes, I mean it was like he was a serious candidate for office or something.

Unlike Ahnold who seems to think he's making another film.

That said, if I were in Cali I'd vote no on recall and yes on Bustemante (sp?).

no doubt about it. Unlike Ahnold, everything about him is pretend, like the movies. I don't understand why a conservative would vote for him. I don't know why any Dem would either.......

Pretty sad to think so many are actually considering voting him into Governorship of the 5th largest economy in the world.

14. Barring a Rove style backstab
The REAL Republican candidate can only gain by finishing off Arnold now and then running legitmately in the real election. If Arnold wins and messes up that would still ruin McClintock's chances of winning the next REAL election. Plus the people who have screwed up the conquest of California and reversed Reaganism by the Enron mess are not exactly popular among the con rank and file. Especially with the elephant sized plate of hypocrisy that Arnold's image and beliefs they are being told to swallow like good little boys.

In fact, Arnold can't stop McClintock's successful and debate credible polling among the faithful. Bribery or blackmail come next I suppose.
Failure to dislodge the only credible Republican candidate with these methods would suggest to me he might be one of the rare few with some modicum of integrity in that crowd.

France was ashamed when they were suddenly left with the choice of a fascist or a failed conservative. They rallied. From our more systemic comedy to the blinded indifferent streets how does Ammerica vis a vis California compare?

17. If Arnold wins, the right wingers lose bigger than if Gray wins
If Arnold wins, the far right loses all credibility in California. How can they ever talk about "morals" or "hollywood" or "porn" again if their chosen god is a pro-porn hollywood gangbanger? Arnold would signal a new direction for the image of California republicans, and it's not an image compatible with the far right.

The far will have to fight Arnold all the way, if they want to survive as a force in California politics.

23. I agree with you.
If Arnie becomes the face of CA GOP, they're doomed. They cannot posit themselves as a cultural opposition. We'd all be "pro-gay" and "pro-choice" and decidedly non-conservative. These fools somehow think that he'd be a nice tool for them and keep his "unsavory" views to himself. They are clearly mistaken. He's already mouthed off about "right-wing wackos." He's an utter opportunist.

18. McClintock came off very well on C-SPAN last night
Edited on Fri Sep-19-03 09:38 AM by slackmaster
I certainly don't plan to vote for him but his presentation was very solid. He's focused, calm, and made very pointed remarks about the state of the state of California without lowering himself to ad hominem or hyperbole.

McClintock may be Cruz Bustamante's best hope for diverting enough votes away from Schwarzenegger, and he's stubborn enough to stay in the race to the end. He's a very serious intellectual candidate with lots of relevant experience and makes Arnold look like the clown that he truly is.

22. There are two species of California Republicans
Moderates, a good example of whom would be Richard Riordan (former mayor of Los Angeles), and far-right conservatives of which Tom McClintock is one of the most credible. This division plus the occasional rise of clowns like Bill Simon or Arnold Schwarzenegger has been holding their party back for about 20 years now.

I'm not sure what you mean by your question about his name. It sounds like another ordinary Scots-Irish surname to me.

31. Wow
It's only been a few weeks and already Arnold is so inept at making a valid argument he has to fall back on conspiracy theories? Dang! No wonder he didn't go to the debate!

I mean, it's pretty pathetic, usually the right wingers leap to conspiracy theories, urban legends, and apocryphal accounts later on. I guess Arnold really doesn't have any actuall clue about polotics or the issues.

However, I would be interested in knowing if and how the aliens are involved with this Bustamante/McClintock conspirasy.
