Bush freedom pledge rings hollow in Arab world
http://www.swissinfo.org/sen/swissinfo.html?siteSect=143&sid=5484567

CAIRO (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush's pledge to champion the oppressed abroad largely rings hollow in the Arab world where many say he must free Iraqis and Palestinians from occupation for anyone to trust him.

Bush vowed at his inaugural address on Thursday to advance freedom against "rulers of outlaw regimes" and said advancing the ideals of self-government across the world "is the urgent requirement of our nation's security".

The language reminded Arabs of Bush's pledges to spread democracy in their countries during his first term.

But they say he has yet to put any real pressure on U.S.-friendly Arab states to reform and Washington's support for Israel at the expense of the Palestinians has further shredded his credibility in Arab eyes.

"We don't see any credible handling of despotic regimes in the Arab region," Egyptian political analyst Mohamed al-Sayed Said told Reuters. "There are people in the region who are his own dictators working for him," he said.

It appears that Arabs aren't as ignorant as the average Fox news viewer. They are not going to swallow the BS.

The freedom to give up control of your resources. The freedom to choose your leaders however we tell you, and to choose from among the choices we give you. We offer freedom to be bombed to oblivion. Freedom to be tortured for our troops' amusement. The freedom to live in tents without sanitation because you also have the freedom to cower in cellars while we destroy your homes and livelihoods. We offer the freedom to lose everything, the freedom to live under a brutal occupation, and to become refuges in your own countries.

Freedom is on the march!
