U.S. Urges Fair Vote Count in Ukraine
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States called on Ukrainian authorities to make sure votes were counted accurately in the presidential election Sunday after fraud marred the previous vote.
"We hope for a free, fair vote that meets international standards and results in an outcome truly reflecting the will of Ukraine's people," said Noel Clay, a State Department spokesman.

"So far, we're hearing that the election is going fairly smoothly, and we look forward to the outcome," said White House spokesman Trent Duffy, accompanying President Bush to his ranch in Crawford, Texas.

The State Department urged the authorities to adhere "to international standards for tabulations and registering the results."

7. Do these idiots even listen to themselves?
The US system of "voting" is a joke to the rest of the world.

A good number of educated people outside of the US who follow US politics know that the US has one of the worst systems of voting -- outside of other 3rd World Countries.

"free, fair vote that meets international standards" -- in which county, precinct and state does this happen -- certainly not in all of them.

Yes, outside of the US -- people do get the irony of this statement -- but do the American people living under mass media propaganda??

10. A Fair Election in Iraq?
Yeah, right. Hilarity ensues.

According to Dahr Jamail, who has been operating as an INDEPENDENT journalist in Iraq offered the following:

The elections are viewed as a joke. Most here now believe there is no way they can be held in an honest, transparent and truly democratic way. Most are also too afraid to vote. I’ve heard people say things like, “The Americans won’t even allow a legitimate election in their own country, so why would they want to have one here!”

propaganda. We urge foreign authorities to adhere to "international standards for tabulations and registering the results", therefore we ourselves know and practice such standards, therefore pretending that we do not is inaccurate. Note that the last proposition is to be *deduced* and not uttered flatly, which makes it more convincing because the target (you and me) comes to it by himself. So that in fact, a comment which appears to deal with a foreign event is in fact targeted at a domestic audience. Note, lastly, the inversion of reality which is one of the hallmarks of this neo-nazi administration: the implicit statement of our obedience to fair and controlled standards is the inversion of the unfairness and lack of control over the presidential election. The same inversion mechanism can be observed over and over again about nearly any topic (e.g. Social Security, Iraq)
