Dissidents protest Monday's Electoral College vote in key swing state Ohio
AP article: (Posted on Raw Story website)

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) As it has done for 200 years, Ohio's delegation to the Electoral College is to meet Monday to cast ballots for president and vice president but this time, there are demands that the electors wait until after a recount.

The Electoral College's vote in the Ohio Senate chamber is expected to be accompanied by demonstrations outside the Capitol sponsored by groups who don't accept that President Bush won the key swing state by 119,000 votes, guaranteeing his victory over Democrat John Kerry.

4. Looks like a job for Homeland Security
They view all dissidents with suspicion.

The Ohio vote has yet to be determined, and we have a questionable slate of Electors being allowed to vote for the man that probably lost Ohio to Kerry.

3. The civil war has begun,
it is just a matter of time before bullets fly.

Those who question the shennanigans are now viewed by our "loyal Press" as disidents... soon we will be called terrarists.

14. I wish!
The only thing I know now IS civil war. Tell me when to show up. Somehow, I suspect I would be custard were there to be a call to arms. Fine,... let this country burn to the ground.

19. Why hasn't there been more talk of secession?
I suppose it is such an unthinkable idea that it is automatically dismissed. It could be accomplished easier thank you might think. Conferences could be set up in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles to form a plan of action. I can vision a new country that would include California, Washington, Oregon & Hawaii in the west, and Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, northern Indiana & Ohio, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and DC in the east. Hell, maybe even Florida if they come to their senses.
A new constitution could be written to insure "real freedom from and FOR religion, health care for all, and equal rights for every resident including gays. Wouldn't it be great to still be Americans and live in a free country once again?
Postscript: I'm through with bushco, freepers, taxcuts for the rich, "moral values," and wars. Throw over the tea.

16. CA's AG was threatened with arrest by the Busheviks.
BIll Lockyer spoke at a San Diego Democratic Club holiday party this evening. He said that Ashcroft had threatened to arrest him for daring to actually enforce California's gun laws, which conflict with federal regulations.

Luckily for us, Lockyer didn't blink. In fact he's filed 23 lawsuits against the federal government on environmental issues and has recently filed suit to prevent the feds from yanking federal funds from CA for education and other programs. The Feds have threatened to withhold payment for various programs if California continues to enforce its law prohibiting hospitals and doctors from turning away women who want/need abortions. The new budget bill, has language that Lockyer terms "a back door attempt to eliminate Roe v. Wade."

12. Ok ok, no doubt this came from Luntz and the boys
Now how to reframe it?

When called a dissident calmly ask the person, and I mean calmly... remember American Patriots who founded this contry questioned their government. You are telling me that King George should have hung all of them for questioning his authority? And who is next? YOU?

You have to call the frame up that the founding fathers were disidents, but do not use the word at any moment... go for the equivaelent in the thesaurus... I wonder if Orange T-Shirts with tea bags would drive the point home.

21. From conspiracy theorists to dissidents.
I guess that's a step up. At least dissidents are considered to be dangerous for their intellectualism, whereas conspiracy theorists are just nutzoids.

22. Andrei Sakharov was referred to as a "dissident..."
...by the western press during the years of his exile in Gorky. By calling us "dissidents," they're casting us in the same light as the great Sakharov.
