Cypress Gardens reopens

In April 2003, Florida's oldest theme park was shut down and slated to become a condominium complex.

But today, the signature hoop-skirted belles of Cypress Gardens will greet guests at a grand reopening, and audiences are sure to again gasp at the stunts of its water skiers. A new amusement area is adding three dozen rides, and a spruced up "village" will offer a variety of shops.

1. I visited Cypress Gardens as a kid in 1957.

They introduced barefoot water skiing which was all the rage back then.

God, I feel old!

filmed at CYPRESS GARDEN?

3. Yes, she did! Seems like Johnny Weismuller was involved, too.

I'm glad they saved the place; it's a Florida historic attraction!
