Ohio Certifies Bush Win by 119,000 Votes
COLUMBUS, Ohio Dec 6, 2004 — This battleground state on Monday certified President Bush's 119,000-vote victory over John Kerry, even as the Kerry campaign and third-party candidates prepared to demand a statewide recount.

The president won Ohio with 2.86 million votes, or 51 percent, to Kerry's 2.74 million votes, or 49 percent.

The 118,775-vote lead was closer than the unofficial election night margin of 136,000, but not enough to trigger a mandatory recount. Absentee ballots and provisional votes counted after election night made most of the difference.

2. Just another day in the GOP's charade of legitimacy.
Another lie "certified" by another liar. It will catch up with them folks. Someone soon is gonna squeal like a pig. And it ain't gonna be anything Karl Rove can spin.

3. So did they wait until 5:00 pm today so nobody could file their suits or
request recounts until tomorrow? Waste every day you can.

5. With 118,775 votes to make up is there any chance?
What I mean is this: what number of possible 'kerry votes' are there left to count?

This 118 thousand vote lead includes 75% of the 'provisional ballots' and all of the overseas and absentee ballots. So what's left?

Maybe it's time to start trying to win the next election?

6. Blackwell, on Fox, said the counties have up to ten days to do recount.

and about 3% of the ballots will be done with a hand recount.

7. In other equally verified news....
...Santa Claus has just run over the Easter bunny while backing out of the tooth fairy's driveway.

What a freaking joke....

9. How could the news have possibly called it that night?
Even if there were no fraud, there is absolutely no way the news media could have called the state for *. Maybe it's not worth wondering about. But when the AP electoral map called Florida and Ohio so quickly, that's when I became suspicious.

And what's more- it proves that having the media call the election prematurely is a terribly irresponsible thing to do. That needs to stop.
