U.S. Death Toll in Iraq Nears Record
The U.S. military death toll in Iraq (news - web sites) rose by at least three Monday and the November total is approaching the highest for any month since the American-led invasion was launched in March 2003.

At least 133 U.S. troops have died in Iraq so far this month ¡X only the second time it has topped 100 in any month. The deadliest month was last April when 135 U.S. troops died as the insurgency flared in Sunni-dominated Fallujah, where dozens of U.S. troops died this month.

The Pentagon (news - web sites)'s official death toll for Iraq stood at 1,251 on Monday, but that did not include two soldiers killed by a roadside bomb in Baghdad and another killed in a vehicle accident. When the month began, the death toll stood at 1,121, the Pentagon said.

4. "Nears Record"
The death toll in Iraq reached a 'record' in Iraq on March 21st, 2003 when the first reported deaths were identified.

6. It's wierd how many Marines from WI have died
They're all from the same unit, yet they (aprox. 8-10) have all died in seperate incidents.

8. Depends on where they were.
Illinois lost 6 of the first 14 reported when the Marines went into Fallujah.

9. Finally.
Near the end of the month, and someone in the press decides the American people might be interested in this "statistic."

I remain disgusted at the lack of media attention to the ongoing and seemingly endless war.

13. Kerry Needs to Step Up to the Plate ... NOW !
Hi all - I've been lurking on these pages for the last month since the "election" , and finally got registered here at DU ( my lifesaver to be amongst like-minded patriots ). My first post!!

Today is a sad day for our troops in Iraq , as we basically tied the monthly record of casualties. This might be a good time to use that arguement to try to convince John Kerry to step up to the plate , and challenge this fraudulent election. We all saw his bravery during, and immediately after his service in Viet Nam. He spoke in front of the Senate back then ... now he IS a Senator and all we get is ... SILENCE ?!? How many more young soldiers will die if Bush is allowed to remain in office unchallenged ? If Kerry wants to do nothing to right this wrong ( the Stolen Election ) , then at least do something to help his comrades in uniform , for chrissakes !

(election) SILENCE = (Iraqi) DEATH

I know we'd all like to believe that Kerry & Co. are all working behind the scenes, about to spring the "Proof" , but we really are getting down to the wire. Perhaps he's learned something from the way the 2000 debacle was handled. Perhaps not. If not,and he allows this theft of democracy to occur without a fight, his "Reporting for Duty" salute at the convention will seem particularly offensive. I want
( I NEED ) to believe that Kerry's got the goods and is simply waiting for the right moment/opportunity to lay it all out. In the meantime, families are losing their loved ones at an ever increasing rate. Get off the bench John . We need you !
