Meanwhile Poppy’s rich friends became very, very, very rich.

Watergate — Nixon was willing to throw anyone and everyone to the wolves — except George Herbert Walker Bush and “The Texans” because “They’ll do anything for our side.” Gee. Would “murder” qualify as “anything.” Think so, especially seeing how Nixon got the ziggy and Bush ended up in the clear.

October Surprise — Carter probably would’ve beat Reagan, but Bush and his buddies in INTEL and the military-industrial complex cut a deal with the Ayatollah to hold the hostages clear through the election. On inauguration day, they got to leave Tehran. A couple of weeks later, Israel starts sending US-supplied weapons. It proves so "profitable," that Ollie North cuts out the Israelis and decides to sell them US-direct.

Reagan survives assassination attempt —Just a couple of months after Reagan is sworn in, Reagan is ALMOST taken out and Bush stood ready to take charge. His son Neil was ready to have dinner that night with John Hinckley’s brother, Scott. Odd how these “One Degree of Separation” coincidences always happen to Poppy.

INSLAW/Promis — The turd Ed Meese and cronies stole software that enabled the Justice Department to track criminal prosecutions, had their INTEL buddies add a trap door, and then sold it around the world, making it possible to track what every BFEE-connected dictator or friend from Saddam to d’Aubission is up to -- in Freedom™’s name.

Iraq-gate / Banca Nazionale del Lavoro arms — Just how do you think Iraq managed to run its war against Iran for all those years? Saddam had to be getting juice from somebody, so they found a low-level banker in Miami to take the fall. US taxpayers floated Saddam $5 billion in loans. Meanwhile the Iran-Iraq war is prolonged by years and several hundreds of thousands of lives are lost.

BCCI International Money Laundering for Terrorists & Intelligence Community — The terrorists’ favorite bank, used by among others Abu Nidhal, Osama bin Laden, Ollie North, CIA, SIS and KGB. The Reagan and Bush administrations and friends on both sides of the aisle in Congress did all they could to keep it open. John Kerry got it shut down.

Savings & Loan Scandal — Legalized robbery in the form of “loans” made to the politically connected, Mafia and INTEL-huggers. Odd how even Neil Bush, who made millions while Silverado, the S&L he helped direct, lost billions in bad loans to Bush cronies, never spent a day in jail. Kid from Detroit steals a pair of shoes from the mall and it’s OK to shoot him dead. Meanwhile, after the bailout “fixes” everything, Poppy’s very, very, very rich friends become ultra-rich.

Iran-Contra — Neo-con Michael Ledeen, Munacher Ghorbanifar and Adnan Khashoggi bend over backward to sell arms the Ayatollah and use the profits to arm the terrorist Contras. Most of the players should be in prison, but, thanks to Poppy’s pardon, remain free to roam the streets, let alone corridors of power, and continue the terror.

Arbusto, HARKEN, Spectrum-7, Aloha — Every company the crazy monkey’s ever touched, he’s run into the ground. Yet Poppy's family and friends, including James R Bath, the bin Mahfouz and bin Ladens, always help him out. No wonder the dim bulb went off thinking of ENRON, Kenny Boy and all the possibilities.

Gulf War I — Poppy Bush gives April Glaspie the signal to greenlight Saddam’s “border dispute” and push into Kuwait. No wonder Saddam felt betrayed when Cheney ordered the extermination of tens of thousands of fleeing Iraqi conscripts heading north on the “Highway of Death.” Meanwhile, Poppy’s ultra-rich friends become ultra-ultra-ultra rich.

Selection 2000 Shreds US Constitution — After fixing things up so that 70,000 likely Democratic votes and voters are turned away or disenfranchised, the 2000 Florida Presidential “election” results in a “tie.” Associate Justice Antonin Scalia gets the idea that maybe the GOP-packed Supreme Court should grant petitioner George W Bush’s request for taking the Oval Office, anyway. Someone on DU wrote: “You don’t steal elections to do good things.” Prophetic words, those.

ENRON Energy Policy — Sneering Dick Cheney meets with Kenny Boy Lay to discuss ways of helping ENRON rip-off California and the rest of America. There were others there, like Chevron and EXXON, because they need oil, too. Besides, the ultra-, ultra-, ultra-rich can never have enough.

9-11 — After ignoring the warnings of outgoing President Bill Clinton, former National Security Advisor Sandy Berger, anti-Terror Chief Richard Clarke, and Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet, George W Bush ignores a report titled “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the U.S.” A month later, 3,000 innocent people are murdered. Two ways of looking at this one: 1.) Criminal Negligence, at best; 2.) Treason, most likely.

Gulf War II — George W Bush, Sneer, and most of “the bureaucracy” make a case for going to war in Iraq, stating there are clear-cut connections between 9-11 and Saddam Hussein, who planned to use his arsenal of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons on America. (So far, the only bioweapon used on America was Anthrax that came from a US Army lab grown from a batch of the University of Iowa Strain.) Anwyay, it’s not really odd to see how attacking Iraq was the Administration’s number 1 priority, according to former Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill and anti-Terror Chief Richard Clarke, from January 2001. The reason? There’s money to be made there and power to be gained at home.


PS: Should Sen. Kerry put things in words that easily convey these truths, it would really open up some eyes. It would make it easy for “Undecideds” to decide. It would even convince good “Bush supporters” to support John Kerry.

A Known Terrorist Living Among Us

Orlando Bosch is the perpetrator of a 1976 bombing of a Cubana airplane carrying seventy-three civilians who were all killed. This was the world's first terrorist action involving the bombing of a civilian airliner. Bosch was recruited, trained, and supported by the CIA. He was then pardoned by the previous Bush administration, and to this day walks freely through the streets of Miami.

Bosch, had been serving a prison sentence but was freed as the result of a campaign launched by Jeb Bush and his right-wing Cuban supporters in Florida. The terrorist activities of Orlando Bosch are fully documented in the book Deadly Secrets by Warren Hinkle and William Turner, who in turn drew their information from a Senate investigation led by Senator Kerry into the activities of the CIA. Evidence showed that the bomb was placed by Cuban-American mercenaries, in the pay of the US Central Intelligence Agency, the CIA. The two terrorists who admitted that they placed the bomb on the Cubana flight—Luis Posada Carriles and Orlando Bosch—are currently free, receiving refuge in the United States.

According to the New York Time of August 17, 1989, Cuban right-wing congressperson Ros-Lehtinen met with former President Bush to negotiate Bosch's release. The meeting was arranged by her campaign manager, Jeb Bush, who had earlier met with Cuban hunger strikers also demanding the release. Bosch was pardoned on July 18, 1990 and the New York Times was the lonely voice denouncing Bush's pardon on an editorial published July 20, 1990.

Bosch was a cohort of Posada Carriles, a Cuban pediatrician who became a world renowned terrorist for the CIA. Carriles has taken claim for the recent wave of hotel bombings in Havana, Cuba. Both men were trained together at Fort Benning, Georgia. Bosch was the founder of the "Command of the United Revolutionary Organizations" formed to cooperate with the DINA Chilean secret police and other Latin American repressive organisms in the murder of leftists throughout the region, including the assassination of the Chilean ambassador, Letelier, in Washington, DC.

Jeb Bush appoints terrorist's lawyer to Florida Supreme Court

President Bush has insisted that you're either on the side of terrorists or the side of freedom. If that's true, then his brother, Jeb Bush, the governor of Florida, is on the side of terrorists.

Gov. Bush has just appointed Raoul Cantero III to Florida's Supreme Court. As an attorney, Cantero represented Orlando Bosch in deportation hearings in 1989, and extolled his client's virtues. Bosch, whom Cantero called a "Cuban patriot," is arguably the hemisphere's most notorious terrorist.

In October 1976, Venezuelan authorities accused Bosch of co-authoring a plot that resulted in the explosion of a civilian Cuban airliner, killing all 73 passengers and crew members. A Jan. 23, 1989, report from the associate attorney general's office cited a 1979 House Assassinations Committee document that said that although Bosch denied his direct involvement in the airliner bombing, he nevertheless "said that he approved of it." He called it "a legitimate act of war." The committee report quoted Bosch as saying that, "You have to fight violence. At times you cannot avoid hurting innocent people."

In 1985, Venezuelan authorities tried Bosch in connection with the airliner terrorism but acquitted him, even though, at his trial, "evidence was presented that the two men convicted of homicide in connection with the bombing were in contact with Bosch both before and after the bombing," according to a Jan. 23, 1989, U.S. Department of Justice brief. Venezuela had declared its intention to retry Bosch when he fled to the United States without "valid documents," according to the Justice Department.

Critics say that Reich was involved in a slew of questionable domestic activities connected to the Iran-Contra scandal. A 1987 government investigation concluded that Reich's "Office of Public Diplomacy" had "engaged in prohibited, covert propaganda activities," like writing and submitting fake letters to the op-ed pages of U.S. newspapers as if they were from Nicaraguan contra leaders.

The Office, headed by Reich, was set up by President Reagan to sell the contras to the American public as freedom-fighters, and to counter domestic criticism of U.S. involvement in the Central American civil wars. Reich is also said to have personally harassed journalists critical of the administration's Central American policies.

Later, as ambassador to Venezuela, from 1986 to 1989, detractors say Reich tried to get a U.S. visa for convicted terrorist Orlando Bosch, a Cuban exile involved in dozens of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil and abroad. Bosch allegedly masterminded the 1976 mid-flight bombing of a civilian Cuban airliner off Barbados, which resulted in the deaths of 73 men, women, and children, including Cuba's entire youth fencing team. He eventually entered the U.S. illegally in 1988 and, as he was about to be deported, Bush, the father, overrode his own Justice Department and allowed him to stay in the country; later, before leaving office, Bush granted him a presidential pardon.

In his later incarnation as a corporate Washington lobbyist and anti-Castro advocate, Reich helped draft the 1995 Helms-Burton Act, which tightened the Cuba embargo by, among other things, penalizing foreign companies with business ties to Cuba, and allowing suits against them. These provisions could benefit Bacardi and Co., Reich's main lobbying client during the last decade (it has paid his consulting company $600,000 in fees since 1996). Now based in the Bahamas, the firm, whose Cuban holdings were nationalized by Castro in 1959, has been enmeshed for years in an international lawsuit against business rival Pernod-Ricard S.A. of France and the Cuban government over the Havana Club rum trademark.

         Other prominent international banking families that simultaneously bankrolled Hitler, Stalin, and Roosevelt during the first half of the 20th century include the Rockefellers (Standard Oil Company, Chase Bank), the Rothschilds, the Schiffs, the Warburgs, and the Bushes, among others.

         Why would the world’s richest individuals simultaneously fund communism in Russia, fascism in Germany, and socialist democracy in the United States? Georgetown historian Carrol Quigley put it this way: “The powers of financial capitalism had a far reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole.” These financial powers had learned that war is the most profitable of all businesses and also the most effective means of changing the global political landscape. Thus, over the past 2 centuries at least, they have covertly manipulated politicians and nations into wars. Their ultimate goal was and is to establish a “New World Order”, a totalitarian one-world government ruled by the very few and very rich, i.e., them. Des Griffin has termed this a “Fourth Reich of the Rich” (Griffin, 1976). George Orwell and Aldous Huxley described what such a world might look like in their classic novels, 1984 and Brave New World.

         President George Herbert Walker Bush was not the first or only prominent man to proclaim this “New World Order”. Hitler, President Woodrow Wilson, author H.G. Wells and innumerable other politicians, writers and businessmen have also heralded its immanent arrival. David Rockefeller, Chairman of Chase Manhattan Bank and arguably the most powerful American of the last half-century, proclaimed: “We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order.”

Over the last year corporate media have made much of Saddam Hussein and his stockpile of weapons of mass destruction. Rarely did the press or, especially, television address the possibility that larger strategies might also have driven the decision to invade Iraq. Broad political strategies regarding foreign policy do indeed exist and are part of the public record. The following is a summary of the current strategies that have formed over the last 30 years; strategies that eclipse the pursuit of oil and that preceded Hussein's rise to power:

In the 1970s, the United States and the Middle East were embroiled in a tug-of-war over oil. At the time, American military presence in the Gulf was fairly insignificant and the prospect of seizing control of Arab oil fields by force was pretty unattainable. Still, the idea of this level of dominance was very attractive to a group of hard-line, pro-military Washington insiders that included both Democrats and Republicans. Eventually labeled "neoconservatives," this circle of influential strategists played important roles in the Defense Departments of Ford, Reagan and Bush Sr., at conservative think tanks throughout the '80s and '90s, and today occupies several key posts in the White House, Pentagon, and State Department. Most principal among them are:

·Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, our current Vice-President and Defense Secretary respectively, who have been closely aligned since they served with the Ford administration in the 1970s;
·Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, the key architect of the post-war reconstruction of Iraq;
·Richard Perle, past-chairman and still-member of the Pentagon's Defense Policy Board that has great influence over foreign military policies;
·William Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard and founder of the powerful, neo-conservative think-tank, Project for a New American Century.

In the 1970s, however, neither high-level politicos, nor the American people, shared the priorities of this small group of military strategists. In 1979 the Shah of Iran fell and U.S. political sway in the region was greatly jeopardized. In 1980, the Carter Doctrine declared the Gulf "a zone of U.S. influence." It warned (especially the Soviets) that any attempt to gain control of the Persian Gulf region would be regarded as an assault on the vital interests of the U.S. and repelled by any means necessary, including military force. This was followed by the creation of the Rapid Deployment Force — a military program specifically designed to rush several thousand U.S. troops to the Gulf on short notice.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Documents that should have been written to explain gaps in President Bush's Texas Air National Guard service are missing from the military records released about his service in 1972 and 1973, according to regulations and outside experts.

For example, Air National Guard regulations at the time required commanders to write an investigative report for the Air Force when Bush missed his annual medical exam in 1972. The regulations also required commanders to confirm in writing that Bush received counseling after missing five months of drills.

No such records have been made public and the government told The Associated Press in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit that it has released all records it can find.

Outside experts suggest that National Guard commanders may not have produced documentation required by their own regulations.

"This is an incredible deal, unbelievable for this small company," energy analyst Charles Strain told Forbes magazine, describing the oil production sharing agreement the Harken Energy Corporation signed in January 1990 with Bahrain.

Under the terms of the deal, Harken was given the exclusive right to explore for gas and oil off the shores of the Gulf island nation. If gas or oil were found in waters near two of the world's largest gas and oil fields, Harken would have exclusive marketing and transportation rights for the energy resources. Truly an "incredible deal" for a company that had never drilled an offshore well.

Strain failed to point out, however, the one fact that puts the Harken deal in focus: George Bush, Jr., the eldest son of George and Barbara Bush of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC, is a member of Harken's board of directors, a consultant, and a stockholder in the Texas-based company. In light of this connection, the deal makes more sense. The involvement of Junior-George Walker Bush's childhood nickname-with Harken is a walking conflict of interest. His relationship to President Bush, rather than any business acumen, made him a valuable asset for Harken, the Republican Party benefactors, Middle East oil sheikhs and covert operators who played a part in Harken's Bahrain deal.

In fact, Junior's track record as an oilman is pretty dismal. He began his career in Midland, Texas, in the mid-1970s when he founded Arbusto Energy, Inc. When oil prices dropped in the early 1980s, Arbusto fell upon hard times. Junior was only rescued from business failure when his company was purchased by Spectrum 7 Energy Corporation, a small oil firm owned by William DeWitt and Mercer Reynolds. As part of the September 1984 deal, Bush became Spectrum 7's president and was given a 13.6 percent share in the company's stock. Oil prices stayed low and within two years, Spectrum 7 was in trouble.

Could it be because he was CIA all-the-way? I knew he was CIA the day in 1976 when Ford appointed him DOCI. You don't get that job without an intelligence background.

The next year, 1977, Jimmy Carter appointed Ted Sorenson as Director of Central Intelligence and there was a hue and cry that Sorenson had no prior intelligence experience. Carter had to back down, withdraw Sorenson, and eventually appointed Admiral Turner. But in 1976 when Ford appointed Bush, he had, on the surface, only been a 2-term congressman, chairman of the RNC under Nixon, and ambassador to China for a year.

Felix "Max Gomez" Rodriguez, veteran of the Bay of Pigs, Watergate and Iran-Contra, in his biography "Shadow Warrior," said he and Bush went waaaay back.

Could George Bush be involved in the JFK assassination?  
In 1963, Bush was living in Houston, busily carrying out his duties as president of the Zapata Offshore oil company. He denied the existence of a note sent by the FBI's J. Edgar Hoover to "Mr. George Bush of the CIA." When news of the note surfaced, the CIA first said they never commented on employment questions, but later relented said yes, a "George Bush" was mentioned in the note, but that it was "another" George Bush, not the man who took office in the White House in 1988. Some intrepid reporters tracked down the "other" George Bush and discovered that he was just a lowly clerk who had shuffled papers for the CIA for about six months. He never received any interagency messages from anybody at the FBI, let alone the Queen Mary.

It is also worth noting that a CIA code word for Bay of Pigs was Operation Zapata, and that two of the support vessels were named Barbara and Houston.  

Many say that George Bush was high up on the CIA ladder at the time,  running proprietorial vehicles and placed in a position of command, responsible for many of the Cubans recruited into "service" at the time. All through the Iran-Contra affair, Felix Rodriguez, the man who captured and had Che Guevara killed for the CIA, always seemed to call Bush's office first.

During Nixon's time, the big complaint from the right was how the "Liberal Media" brought down the original Crook. Hmmm. The claim is absurd, seeing how "Deep Throat" or whomever did the leaking and only a couple of papers (WP and, later, NYT) did the reporting. Anyway, the charge stuck that the media were biased Left. So, to ensure that situation would never happen, the Reich decided to rectify things rightward.

The Big Corporations bought every media property in sight and when they were done they started buying each other. Ben Bagdikian talked about it in the early 80s in "Media Monopoly," which chronicled the change in mass media ownership. Today, things are much worse, with six companies controlling the lion's share of what American's see and hear and read.

Remember Bill Casey, the CIA head who took the rap for Iran-Contra and then died on the operating table? He helped tiny Capital Cities buy big old ABC Television nutwork. Nice coverage of the Democrats and the issues since then, fellahs!

The free press is the only business mentioned by name in the US Constitution (in the FIrst Amendment). The Founders understood its importance for the new nation. Thus, rather than the more sober analysis that led him to label the Reagan supply-side advisors as "charlatans and cranks" in the first edition of his Principles of Economics textbook, Mankiw has now reverted to substituting the recitation of political codewords--"tax relief" and "double taxation"--for actual analysis.

A transfer of wealth

Alas, as Krugman notes, the core measures of the tax cuts are designed to benefit the very wealthy, not to stimulate the economy. In a penetrating article on "The Tax-Cut Con," Krugman writes that "The centerpieces of the 2001 act were a reduction in the top income-tax rate and elimination of the estate tax--the first, by definition, only benefiting people with high incomes; the second benefiting only heirs to large estates. The core of the 2003 tax cut was a reduction in the tax rate on dividend income."<8>

The latter has been given the political code name "double taxation," which we've seen Mankiw has now adopted. The double taxation argument holds no water, as dividends are just one of many ways in which monetary exchanges are taxed multiple times. For instance, individual income is taxed through payroll taxes, income taxes and sales taxes. And, furthermore, while corporate profits are increasingly untaxed due to various loopholes and tax breaks, only half of all Americans own any stock at all and those who do are largely invested in 401(k) plans that will not be affected by the dividend tax cut.

Reduction of taxes on dividends, like the elimination of the estate tax is part of a larger movement to shift the tax burden from the wealthy to the less well off--in this case it is a shift from taxes on wealth to taxes on work, as noted in a recent report by United for a Fair Economy.<9> This report also notes the shift of the burden on to future generations, citing a report by Citizens for Tax Justice that shows how the fiscal policies of the Bush Administration will impose an average debt of $13,000 per US citizen between 2002 and 2007.<10>

A popular course in the United States for middle and high school students about the Holocaust gives a false account of anti-Semitism and related events in Nazi-era Germany carefully designed to drive home the lesson that most people are prone to bigotry and are a dangerous force. The course, called "Facing History and Ourselves" (FHAO), is funded by liberal foundations and corporations (and in the past, grants from the U.S. Department of Education) and wealthy individuals. It reaches one million students a year in schools across the country. Foundations and corporate leaders support "Facing History and Ourselves" because it helps discredit the central idea of democracy -- that ordinary people are fit to rule society.

FHAO's main resource book, Facing History and Ourselves: Holocaust and Human Behavior, is a 576-page collection of short readings and questions carefully selected to convey a negative view of people by lying about the facts. Contrary to the views promoted by FHAO, the true facts about Germany during the Holocaust show that 1) working class Germans fought the Nazis; 2) anti-Semitism did not come from ordinary people; and 3) anti-Semitism was a weapon used by Germany's industrial and aristocratic elite to attack not only the Jewish minority but the entire working class.

GERMAN OPPOSITION TO THE NAZIS WAS WIDESPREAD

Facing History's discussion of resistance in Germany to the Nazis begins with an Einstein quote: "The world is too dangerous to live in—not because of the people who do evil, but because of the people who sit and let it happen." The "Facing History" account claims that only a few isolated individuals resisted Nazism. The truth is quite different.

When the President of Germany appointed Hitler Chancellor on Jan 30, 1933, the Nazis had just suffered a major defeat in the national election. It had become clear that the Nazis could not out-poll their main opponents, the working class Marxist parties. Additionally, Nazi storm troopers were being physically attacked by workers in industrial centers and small towns across Germany. The elite installed Hitler as Chancellor because they feared that working class power was getting out of hand, and they were desperate to find a political leader who could lead the upper classes in a ruthless war against the working classes. Standard histories of this period, such as William Shirer's classic The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, describe how this happened.

Every time Germans had a chance to vote for or against Hitler, the great majority voted against him. Hitler ran for President in March, 1932 and got only 30% of the vote; in the run-off election the next month he got only 37%, versus 53% for the incumbent Field Marshal von Hindenburg. Nazi electoral strength peaked on July 31, 1932 when Nazi rhetoric about representing all Germans and not special interest groups lured some voters away from the numerous small, special-interest conservative parties. The Nazis won 230 out of 608 total seats in the Reichstag (parliament). But their main foes, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Communist Party—both of which were led by Marxists and received mainly working class votes—jointly captured 222 seats in the same election. Voting records show that the richer the precinct, the higher the Nazi vote.

The Artist, an incredible 84 yr. old German woman who began painting when her kids were grown, told me in MUCH MORE polite language aber auf jedenfall scharf, "* is a Nazi turd." Punkt. She worries about Amis being so DUMB. I don't make the news, I just report it. ;-)
