Rap Kid Rock inaugural pick (Wildmon "Slap in the Face" Consv Christians)
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 02:00 PM by RamboLiberal
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/gossip/story/268839p-230237c.html

Conservative Christians are flabbergasted about reports that raunchy rock-rapper Kid Rock will perform at a youth concert at the presidential inauguration.

"What in the world are these people thinking?" asked Donald Wildmon, chairman of the American Family Association in Tupelo, Miss. "This is the biggest slap in the face to the Christian conservatives."

<snip>

And back in 1990 - when President Bush's father was in the White House and his mother, Barbara, was First Lady - Kid Rock sang: "Pimp of the Nation, I could be it/ As a matter of fact, I forsee it/ But only pimpin hoes with the big tush/ While you be left pimpin Barbra Bush."

"Boy," Wildmon admonished. "Where I come from, you talk about my mama like that, those are fightin' words. Shooting words!"

Inauguration planners seemed to be backpedaling yesterday about the event following a call from the Daily News. "Kid Rock has not been confirmed," insisted Tracey Schmitt, a spokeswoman from the Presidential Inaugural Committee. "But I can tell you Hilary Duff has been confirmed, as has JoJo."

Schmitt added, "There's no greater defender of family values than President Bush."

Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 01:33 PM by XanaDUer
are already writing chimp about it at www.congress.org.

"January 7, 2005

The Detroit-based rapper, who dedicated his first album to songs about oral sex and who was voted the Sluttiest Male Celebrity at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards, will perform Jan. 18 at the Washington, D.C., Armory in a concert hosted by Bush daughters Jenna and Barbara. Teenage singer JoJo also will appear at the event.

Please remember we voted for Christian values in the past election.

53. Those ARE Bush's FAKE Christian values. If they don't realize that by now
they are HUGER FOOLS than we thought.

Bush is NOT a Christian and holds NO Christian values. He is a FASCIST, a CORPORATIST and a PLUTOCRAT.

The Christians were used, just as Rove and Bush planned.

That's right, I said thirteen. The first time I saw her video, she seemed like any other generic teenybopper pop star, except something was a little off, something I couldn't put my finger on. Then I found out -- she's just a little child that they tart up and splash all over the TV. Sick. :puke:

I think it's a glimpse of the coming rift in the Republican party. Most of the Republicans I know are the tax-break, greedy, consumer types or macho, kick-your-ass wannabees who love sleaze and Kid Rock types. They are already bristling at the control the fundies have on their party and vice-versa.

85. figures...
He didn't write that one, it was a Hank Williams tune. Kid Rock is a talentless street thug. I highly doubt he could stand his own and do a whole night, much less a set, just him playing ANY musical instrument and singing. The industry became a "cult of personality" right at the end of the arena rock era in the early nineties. That's when the industry stopped promoting skilled musicians and writers and began focusing on rap/hip-hop "artists" and street thugs.

89. Not all rap is bad.
There is some good rap and hip-hop. There was also grunge in the early 90's. I think things started getting bad around 1997-98, when Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit started getting big and on the other hand, that was also when teen pop became big. It was all this shit that spurred this on.

Why do they always have to resort to violence like this?

LMAO at the "talent" that will be "on loan from God" for Chimpys festival. Where is Toby Keith, Darrell Worley and the rest of the KKKountry music crowd?

Meanwhile, the real talent is out protesting the shrub.

55. Ahh, the talent they are amassing
JoJo? Oh please - she "sung" at the Orange Bowl a few nights ago and absolutely murdered the Star Spangled Banner. I'm from Maryland, I'm a soprano and I've sung in a number of choral groups - I know the National Anthem isn't easy to sing - but it's not as difficult as she made it out to be. Cut out all the damn quavers on each note, knock off the grimacing like that high note just burst a blood vessel and stop making like the mike was your boyfriend's roger and sing the song the way it was written - no dramatics needed.

Wildmon makes me think of wildman, which makes me think of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. If he had any Christian principles he would change his name to something more appropriate, like Tamemon.

Plus, he should quit threatening to shoot people.

"Boy," Wildmon admonished. "Where I come from, you talk about my mama like that, those are fightin' words. Shooting words!"

This from a minister? Where is that in the Bible? "And the LORD said, whosoever doth insult thy sainted mother shall have a cap popped into his buttocks forthwith"? Don't think so.

From their Web site: "The American Family Association represents and stands for traditional family values, focusing primarily on the influence of television and other media on our society."

Uh, yeah, I could see where "traditional values" means you get to shoot someone who talks trash about your mama. :eyes:

68. This is so true. It's why the concept of the Rapture, where christians
begin their 1000 years of peace after all the sane people are killed by their oh so benevolent god, is such a laugh riot. They would have peace for all of 10 minutes before they were finding something to fight with each other about.

These people are so unhappy to be alive, but their religious beliefs don't allow them to kill themselves.

That adage is their mantra! If they can't be happy, no one can be! They spend all this time worrying about the "afterlife" and fail to worry about what they do now! They are a sad lot. What is sadder, is that they have all this power and so many people bend to their will!

65. AH, YES!!! The FLAG DESECRATION PONCHO!!!!
Cut from the same cloth, indeed!!!!

Ya know, I watched the SUPERBOWL, and when I saw that lameass mofo trot out on the stage with his desecrated flag poncho I was genuinely appalled. I understand the civil liberties issues around flag burning, and so on, and while I don't especially like it, I understand the "political statement" aspect of it all. What I don't understand is how a "fashion statement" is somehow not commented upon, but a boob with a bottle cap on it gets everyone all a-twitter.

When that floppy boob popped out, I said to myself, "Well, no one will be talking about the asshole who cut a hole in a flag to make himself a poncho, now, will they?" and damn, I was right!

If he were a Dem and had wore that poncho out on stage it would have been mentioned even with the wayward escape boob. It would have been used to paint an even more grim picture of amoral, unamerican values.

As it were, nothing, nada, zip! These are strange times.

Actually, rocks are smarter.

But I seriously doubt the Kkkristian KKKoalition is going to leave bush...they're getting their 15 minutes of fame under this regime, and he can screw 'em all he wants to, and they'll still bow at his feet.

Besides, the repukes plan to use them again come 2006 to justify how they managed to get a filibuster-proof congress. They'll be as nice to the KKKristians as they need to be.

Real Christians, meanwhile, are being silenced.

Since I base my personal philosophy on the teachings of John, Paul, George, and Ringo, I figure my role as a parent has been fulfilled. :)

"The thing about Ozzy is, he's made a lot of big hit recordings: Party With the Animals, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Face in Hell, Black Skies and Bloodbath in Paradise, Ozzy, Mom loves your stuff." President Bush, May 4, 2002 at a White House Ball where he made Ozzy Osbourne a guest of honor. And yet, those right-wing Christians just EAT up the Bush's! So many Christians are wacks, we're not perfect beings to begin with, but so many of the group who profess what I do, are seriously, wacked. Bush being one of them.
