46. "Days not weeks" was the scariest thing to me.
I couldn't believe Obama would trot out something so Orwellian. I guess most people don't remember Bush and Rumsfeld chanting "weeks not months" before entering Iraq. I would note that we're still there, despite Obama's "Mission Accomplished" moment.

Tom Tomorrow fucking nails it every time. Although the "mission creep" outcome was pretty predictable right from the beginning. The bold claims that the mission was limited were just intended to grandfather in further action later.
