The resignation of the California Republican Party's top fundraiser of the past decade is worrying some of the state's biggest conservative donors, potentially hurting the party when the GOP's fortunes are at low ebb in the state.

Jeff Miller, a former adviser to ex-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger who raised $60 million for state Republicans, stepped down as finance chair just days after warning attendees at the GOP state convention that the party is only speaking to "30 percent of the state" and donors are tired of infighting and losing.

The rumblings caused by Miller's departure could hurt the state party when it needs major donors to open their wallets wider to help revive the GOP in politically blue California.
