Yeah, it's only after when they are in the burn center that everything suddenly matters.

I was a fireman for years.

I can give you a list of the people I saw in the burn centers who thought they were heroes.

You only ever hear about the ones that don't get burned. I can tell you will almost 100% certainty that there are at least 10-20 other people, to every hero that makes it out alive, who chose to be heroes that you never heard about because they wound up dead or in the hospital with life threatening injuries.

If you want to run into a burning building with out gear, knock yourself out, but just think of the fire-person who has to find your "charcoaled" body afterward.

I still get massive nightmares.
