122. Would having the conviction vacated or expunged be a lot more "doable"? ...

I would imagine that getting a Presidential Pardon is really a long shot. I know people who have had drug felony's vacated and even had their gun rights restored for right around $1,000. Plus, have you considered how everything you do, or have ever done will be investigated before any President would even consider a pardon? Even if you do get the pardon, you'll still have to sue to get your land back.
Either way, I wish you luck and hope it works out for you. Just to add, I worked very hard to keep a fellow Irishman and close friend of mine from being deported. I was actually in touch with Hillary Clinton, Cabinet Members, Irish and British M.P.s,Political leaders in Ireland, Immigration Attorneys and tons of other "Big Guns". The fight lasted around two years and cost tens of thousands of dollars. My friend was deported over a year ago. I bring this up just to highlight how difficult it is to get any administration to move on anything having any controversy attached to it. The Vacation might be the easiest, cheapest and most realistic way to go. Either way, good luck to you my friend.
P.S. Asking for e-mails and letters of support from strangers is a good idea, but be damn sure to have any letters to any court or judge go to your lawyers and NOT directly to the judge or court.
