13. One night Bell interviewed a guy who claimed to have found a bottomless hole
he went on and on about how he'd drop things into it and *not* hear them land on anything. (yes, this is how Coast to Coast was back in the 1990's/early 2000's). the guy finally decided to lower something on a string into the hole to see how deep it was. he lowered all his string and still it had tension --ergo, the hole is bottomless!!!

30 or 40 minutes into the interview someone calls in and says, that if you lower enough string/rope, then wouldn't that alone keep the tension on the string? even if the object attached to it had finally come to rest on something.

then Bell says, "well, that seems like a good point doesn't it?"

the rest of the interview kind of seemed anticlimactic.
