Economy Minister Pablo Longueria withdraws from Chilean Presidential race

Chilean Economic Minister, the conservative nominee for President has withdrawn from the Presidential race to be held in four months, his son cited depression. He will be replaced by Labor Minister Evelyn Matthei.
As a person who suffers from depression I do feel for Minister Longueria. But I do wonder if part (or most) of his depression isn't coming from the poll numbers which show his party en route to getting creamed by former President Michelle Bachelet of the Socialist Party.
