1. She deserved a lifetime achievement award for acting before she was 28!
She has played in movies that have been great and movies that have been lame, but her acting in all of them has been faultless.

I have never had much curiosity about the personal lives of show business celebrities, but, on a few occasions, I have been. Overall, though, I agree that all they owe us is our money's worth when they perform.

As far as gay people making announcements, meh. I've never found the need to announce that I am heterosexual and no one has held my failure to announce against me. Equal means equal. Besides, who cares?

The only time that an announcement should be required, I think, is if you feel someone is sexually and/or romantically attracted to you andyou have no interest in that person and are pretty sure you never will because you are not attracted to that person's gender.

Even then, perhaps a "never going to happen for us" is all that is required, as opposed to "Fugheddaboutdit. I'm gay." (Gentler and more suble words in both instances, of course.)
