3. I haven't been on DU at all this past week
Trying to get a person to do some repair work. It was part of a job offer which indirectly implicates my own prospects. They wanted to meet me by asking me to attend the march here locally which was totally co-opted by old-left red-flag waving types (aka ANSWER). This was after Occu~ failed to converge on our city as promised. Basically because the traveling Occu~ encampment hasn't materialized. Now... I love & tolerate old-lefties as much as anyone else -- the friend I was meeting is an old Trot -- but not when they decide to co-opt an Occu~march, even if it's May Day. Hell, it wouldn't have been tolerated by other branches of the left in the old days, either... back when May 1 was the day of labor, not just for the institutionalized hard-left. It's not like other branches of the political spectrum are allowed to co-opt marches in that fashion. So much for strength of the movement deriving from resistance to co-optation. (I did meet a bunch of nice folks at the non-blood red section of the march though.) So then after feeling like a biscuit walking behind a bunch of red-flag waving cancer Answer coalition marchers, my friend naturally ditched me. (no offense to anyone, I just don't think people of a preexisting organized partisan group should attempt to "get out in front" of the movement.) Fortunately another friend I got in touch with is a great guy and perfect for the construction job I was trying to set up -- when he's um, up for it.*cough* *cough*

Oh, was that an implication?

The person originally scheduled to do the work with me, and all of my plans were built around working with him, had a minor freakout a month ago and broke off contact with me, accusing me of showing him insufficient resepct, rendering communications dysfunctional since everypony either talks to him or me -- which is why I've not been too active this past month.
