5. The NYT's reported he left the base and walked a mile and started checking doors
doors in the first village until he found the first home. And after the first home he then went to the next village.

The thing that struck me was how calculated he was. Leaving your base without anyone knowing (there must be guards at these bases) and then walking a mile, checking doors until you find one unlocked then shooting women, children and old men. (NYT and other articles claim the children will killed with single bullet to head...yet other articles say there walls were riddled with bullets and blood spatters.

I don't think we know the whole truth of it, yet. If he was suffering PSTD ...I guess anything is possible and I feel bad for him that his condition wasn't discovered. Yet...the methodical way he went about the killings and the attempt to burn the evidence sounds more like a person who knew what he was doing rather than a "one off" act of mental distress.
