Some young people are sick, and thanks to the Affordable Care Act they are covered by their parents policies until they are 26. When the full plan takes effect, every insurer will have to accept them regardless of their preexisting conditions and charge them the same as other young people.

And other actual sick people are protected from being dropped by their policies because they're gotten sick -- something private insurers could do with impunity, but not now.
