No, I haven't been to San Diego since the 60's. Many Spanish folk, more-so than most of us Norteños anyway, are bilingual.

One thing I can guarantee - the woman I have lived with for over 20 years is not an astroturfer (and all but apolitical), and she had some colorful language to use in describing what her reaction would have been.

These are real people, they have often been scheduled with overnight shifts and longer hours to cover the holiday demands. What they want is to finish up their shift and go home for sleep or to be with family. Or in many cases, to get to that second or third job that the Chimp thought was such a great American way of life.
