88. Numerous problems with that theory
For one thing, most people won't watch the GOP debate that occurs this early in the election season. Those that do are already diehard conservatives or liberals, so their opinions won't change.

For another, Obama did make himself look weak again, demoralizating his liberal and union base again.

For another, as Bill Clinton once said people would rather have somebody who is strong and wrong than someone who's weak and right. Which sadly is true. A guy who lets himself be bossed around by people lower than himself doesn't come across as appealing IMO. But I could be wrong. Obama is far more sane than the GOP. But does the fact that he can't/won't fight for anything negate most of that benefit?
