Our recent overhaul of Bankruptcy has far reaching effects on our capitalism. Those predisposed to risk on starting businesses, and investing in their ideas best think twice. If you fail, you could be on the hook, and even jailed, in perpetuity. In times past, you would declare, and begin to pick up your economic pieces. Likely start over with another attempt at the American Dream. Now, you could wind up destitute. Not only you, but your family. Try telling the spousal unit that you want to risk your entire futures together.

Small business will suffer until this is rectified. Add in the shriveled lines of credit, and generally harsh attitude of those traditionally tasked with capitalizing businesses, and no one in their right mind would take the risk.

So, this reform might just be another plank in the effort to eliminate all competition from less than monopoly corps. And buy up ideas and products at fire sale. Also, this ups the ante on threat of lawsuit, deserved or otherwise from said monopoly corp.

This seems just another of the signposts on the road to serfdom.
