64. Reagan or Bush - it's pretty much of a toss up for me -
but during Reagan's time the US itself, the people, not the politics, still seemed to mostly hold to the ideals I grew up with. Milken went to prison, and "Wall Street" derided the rise of the culture of greed he embodied - while today people who did far worse than Milken get bonuses. We got all jingoistic and invaded Grenada and Lebanon and Panama - but quickly got the hell out - while today we are balls deep in two wars and wading into at least one more.

At that time I felt what was going on was but an aberration.

Today, it's the prevailing culture.
