5. Rubio's negative numbers on the climb all year----oh, dear, Jeb.
Just after last November's election:

Like Rick Scott, Rubio garnered less than 50% of the vote. But that won't stop the frenetic hype., January 1, 2011

From Public Policy Polling, October 5, 2011:

(Rubio's) disapproval has ticked up with each poll we've done from 31% in March to 35% in June to now 39% on our late September poll.

Meanwhile, the usual suspects dial up the shouting.

And, just hot off the presses:

Rubio shuts door on VP nod, October 5, 2011

AP via Politico:

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio says he's not going to be the GOP vice presidential nominee in 2012 because he's focused on being a U.S. senator.

Speaking at a political forum in Washington, Rubio said flatly: "I'm not going to be the vice presidential nominee." He then repeated himself.

Rubio said he didn't run for the Senate "to have a launching pad for another job."

As noted by Politico, politicians make all sorts of declarations, but that last line Rubio uttered will be difficult to overcome, if and when "things change".

Time to step back into the shadows for a bit, Rubio. Not to worry, Jeb Bush will keep you company.
