the others to compete for her endorsement.

Then she'll be paid for endorsement speeches. She can tour the country on behalf of that candidate. She'll stay in the spotlight. She'll continue to be viable. She still has a contract with Fox, so she can speak about that candidate on Fox. It's a win win for her.

I don't see any advantage to her running as an Independent. She'd have to drum up contributions, hire an expensive staff who'd try to tell her what to do, how to act, how to dress. Sure, at the end of it (because she'd lose), she'd be even more famous and command even more money. But she'd risk becoming a joke because of things she'd no doubt say on the campaign trail.
